Thank you to the NYPD for:

    – their fine work in cracking the case so quickly, and removing the murder from the streets as quickly as they did.

    – their extraordinary efforts and manpower expenditure.

    – their coordination with and sensitivity towards the community.

    Thank you to Shomrim for:

    – mobilizing in such a fast and well organized manner.

    – acting as a liaison between community members looking to help and the authorities.

    – the countless hours worked without any type of a break (even to sleep, in many cases) in their efforts.

Thank you to the volunteers for:

    – turning out in such numbers that several square miles were exhaustively searched.

    – coming from miles away and dedicating hours of time to help search.

Thank you to the various business which donated time, effort and supplies to help the searchers. This includes food, water, flashlights, and other things.

Thank you to the community for:

    – the huge amount of tehilim said, mitzvos and learning done.

    – the massive turnout for the levaya that unfortunately was needed.

    ============================

If anyone is aware of a way to assist the Kletzky family (donations, learning for the shloshim or yartzeit, etc.) please let it be known.

Thanks, Icot, for this hakaras hatov post.

If I may, I would add a big thank you to those who did the tahara, such a chesed shel emes, especially in such a case, along with the American equivalent of Zakka (perhaps that would be Misaskim)

Many non-jews participated in the search. YWN reported there was a group of 20 Pakistanis involved in the search.

    Agreed, 100%

As difficult a job as the chesed shel emes they normally perform is, I can’t even imagine how wrenching it must have been in this case.

These folks deserve our utmost respect and gratitude.

    I’m not surprised.

This is the type of thing that affects anyone with a shred of humanity and decency.

That is true and that really moved me. It was comforting to see that there were non Jews who got involved.

I was watching Eyewitness News today, and the news anchor (I cannot recall his name) seemed about to choke up. This tragedy has truly touched the entire community, not just the Orthodox Jewish one. Everyone was galvanized into action, Jew, non-Jew, male, female, younger, older, all religious persuasions, and all ethnic groups. So sad that is took an act of this magnitude to bring a certain achdus to all of us, but if only for a short while people were acting as brothers and sisters for a change.

Thank you to Chavairim, of Boro park, Flatbush, and the crew that arrived from Lakewood for many hours and helped search and later arrange the funeral in Dean NJ
