So.. what was your reaction to it?? Did you pass it further??
i’ll start 😉 When i received it, i sent it to a family member just to invoke reaction!
He replied: “One of my family members sent to me this text after i sent it to him just to invoke reaction 😉
“I had a dream last night, my grandfather told me ???? is coming tomorrow and anybody who sends any other messages than this will have great financial loss … so it’s a no win situation!”
September 2, 2011 12:07 am at 12:07 am #805509PrincessEagleMemberCan’t seem to edit it … the fourth and fifth line are a mistake beside the words “he replied!” sorry about that
September 2, 2011 12:29 am at 12:29 am #805510600 Kilo BearMemberI laughed just as I am laughing now.
I had a dream the other night that I was in Otisville starting a three-year sentence – and I am not kidding either. As I live in a place from which they can’t extradite me even if I did belong in Otisville, I took the dream about as seriously as I take all of this chain letter nonsense.
This kind of nonsense leads kids OTD.
September 2, 2011 1:21 am at 1:21 am #805511WIYMemberAll chain texts and emails are alone. Shtusim Mamish. How silly can you be?! What did they do before email and text?! Does anybody under 30 years old think anymore? Anybody? Very upsetting that from people can be so stupid and have such a fundamental lack of understanding the basics of Yiddishkiet.
September 2, 2011 1:34 am at 1:34 am #805512☕️coffee addictParticipantHey speaking of spam email, I got a spam snail mail a few days ago by a nigerian (and she paid for postage)
September 2, 2011 3:43 am at 3:43 am #805513yid4lifeMemberI laughed out loud.
whenever i get these texts or emails i just laugh and kinda get disappointed in the people who sent them to me. if they are my good friends ill write back- are you kidding me?? and they’ll be like yea its probably fake but just in case..
just in case what?!? just in case you die because you didn’t forward an email to 10 people in the next ten minutes???
How ridiculous?
I’ve learned to completely ignore them…haha
September 2, 2011 1:03 pm at 1:03 pm #805514apushatayidParticipantJust curious. Who originated the text chain? The mekubal?
September 2, 2011 1:10 pm at 1:10 pm #805515ImaofthreeParticipantI deleted it and went on with my life.
September 2, 2011 4:02 pm at 4:02 pm #805516Boro Park GirlMemberI really thought it was ridiculous.
my sisters friend sent it to her first and she wasn’t sure what to make out of it, so I had to explain how hashem isn’t basing parnassah on text messages but rather on our ma’asim and our mazel on Rosh Hashana.

Just comes to show how sick this generation is. If the “holy text message” says it, it must be true. Our brains have been kidnapped by these stupid electronic devices. Pathetic. Moshiach is going to have to send text messages that he is here. I can just imagine it. Oy Lanu.
September 2, 2011 4:21 pm at 4:21 pm #805518collegegradMemberI thought the text was ridiculous. At the end of the text its said now forward this to 12 ppl. I didn’t. I wonder what will happen to me now am I cold heartless person or will bad things start happening. All the emai forwards that say forward this to 12 ppl always come with a threat if you don’t or promise you good things if you do. Shame you can only fit 160 characters in a text now I’ll never know….
September 2, 2011 4:28 pm at 4:28 pm #805519Sam2ParticipantI honestly thought it was hilarious because it got through to a lot of ultra-Orthodox people who really had never seen spam or a chain letter before. Their reactions were what made it such a huge deal.
September 2, 2011 7:29 pm at 7:29 pm #805520ItcheSrulikMemberEveryone’s laughing but what if someone with a sheine hadras panim said it at a kiddush or shalosh seudos instead of in a text? Most otherwise intelligent people have certain blindspots where they’re very gullible.
September 3, 2011 8:38 pm at 8:38 pm #805521ToiParticipantya a cousin of mine tried to convince me that moshiach is coming over the internet because it reaches everyone. i gave him one of those looks that kinds says drop dead, your pretty dumb
September 4, 2011 1:15 am at 1:15 am #805522ItcheSrulikMemberI guarantee you that when he comes, the news will be online before it makes it to print newspapers or shul bulletin boards.
September 4, 2011 3:34 am at 3:34 am #805523apushatayidParticipanti would assume moshiach would have a kosher phone. if he did, how would he text his arrival?
September 4, 2011 3:54 am at 3:54 am #805524ilovetheholylandParticipantmost interesting email i have gotten yet.
September 4, 2011 3:55 am at 3:55 am #805525Sam2ParticipantApushatayid: Why would Moshiach necessarily have a Kosher phone?
September 4, 2011 5:45 am at 5:45 am #805526ConcernedMemberParticipantI received this from a few people as well. The first line had me intrigued, briefly, but I completely lost interest and deleted it when I saw the request to forward it along. Thanks, but no thanks.
September 4, 2011 6:23 pm at 6:23 pm #805527apushatayidParticipantSam2. Last I heard, kosher phones did not do texting.
