April 17, 2011 8:59 pm at 8:59 pm #760651dancinggirlMembermy family has all genders in the teenage zone, so i know how difficult it is…we usually go far in the car with blasting music to a picnic (sounds nerdy, but its really fun!!) like cape may, we played ball, real quality time! or there are family 6 flags days…good luck!

April 18, 2011 3:17 am at 3:17 am #760657walton157Member@dancinggirl: Good ideas, except Cape May is around 3 1/2-4 hours from NYC one way, if that is where HIE is from.
April 18, 2011 3:33 am at 3:33 am #760658HIEParticipanti am from NYC (of course!)
April 18, 2011 3:48 am at 3:48 am #760659erm_saywhatMemberThere are a bunch of great places to go (window) shopping if you like:
The Apple Store on Fifth Avenue is actually quite fascinating. (5th and 59th)
Also, FAO Schwartz is right next door. (5th and 59th)
Also in the area are Barnes and Noble (and Borders, which is closing soon. – 59th and Park)
Build-a-Bear is also in the city. (Near B&N)
I’m sure there’s a Toys-R-Us in the area as well. (No clue where.)

April 18, 2011 5:44 pm at 5:44 pm #760663erm_saywhatMemberFAO Schwartz it a toy store that sells really expensive toys. The items are so expensive, that it’s just
like a museum.
April 18, 2011 6:08 pm at 6:08 pm #760664Patur Aval AssurParticipantHow about a trip to the Beis Medrash?
April 18, 2011 6:10 pm at 6:10 pm #760665chickpeaMemberthe funnest thing to do is to rent bikes for the whole family and go to a park or someplace with a trail and bike along it…..or rent segways which is very cool…..
April 18, 2011 6:37 pm at 6:37 pm #760666HIEParticipantchickpeas, i did that by central park and its great and a ton of fun
April 18, 2011 7:11 pm at 7:11 pm #760667Patur Aval AssurParticipantAs an added benefit a trip to the Beis Medrash is generally free (unless you get solicited for a donation)
April 18, 2011 8:09 pm at 8:09 pm #760668bygirl93MemberPAA- I AM A GIRL!!!! if i walked into a beis medrash- there would be problems!!!!

April 18, 2011 10:15 pm at 10:15 pm #760672Sister BearMemberlol bygirl93 you can join the Rabba thing, they probably have that.
But seriously Patur Aval Assur, you’ve got to be kidding we don’t even have the mitzva of learning like men do. So why don’t you (if you’re a guy) learn for all those poor unfortunate girls who can’t learn in a bais medresh on Chol Hamoed.
April 18, 2011 10:38 pm at 10:38 pm #760673whatelseisleftMemberRepeat that again?
i do not believe that concept exists
April 19, 2011 7:16 pm at 7:16 pm #760674123bubbyParticipantATT. Israeli teens!!!! Any ideas what WE can do?
April 21, 2011 3:13 am at 3:13 am #760675brotherofursParticipantfao shwartz was soo much fun!- for little kids. huge toy store that has like overly large toys and it’s fun to look at everything and there’s like a piano kids can step on, and huge dolls, and if wanna buy a board game, there’s an employee by each part that you can try out the game with 😉
April 21, 2011 3:14 am at 3:14 am #760676brotherofursParticipantwhat about laser tag? or ice skating?

April 22, 2011 7:47 am at 7:47 am #760679novo1MemberI went biking and hiking at bear mt., just an hour and a half from brooklyn. It was a great, if a little strenuous trip, but it was well worth. perfect for a teen and something that most male members of the familly can.enjoy. (sorry, girls!)
April 24, 2011 3:21 am at 3:21 am #760680princess17Memberamusement park , dave and busters, boating, go karting,bowling….
