What is SYMS???
TORAH, intellegent-
A large clothing store with many branches on the east coast. They carry good quality name brand clothes and have cheap prices. Twice yearly they have a huge sale called the ‘Syms Bash’ (note my post above explaining why its called that). Since prices are slashed so drasticly for those 2 weeks, the stores are usually packed with Frum people. Btw, the owner is a Yid- Sy Syms.
OOOOOOOh! The store that is pronounced “sims”? I thought it’s some kind of organization S.Y.M.S that stands for something. Of course I’ve heard of it.

JOSEPH- I dont take this as funny. Dont mix Rashis about the Bais Hamikdosh into this concoction.I take Yerushalayim and Moshiach very seriously.
Joseph, it’s not a Rashi. It’s written next to two other mitzvos – the mitzva to have pizza on motzei Pesach, and the mitzva to go to a concert on motzei Shabbos Nachamu.

how dare you compare the heilige syms which has separate sections for men and women (‘s clothing) to treif mixed hangouts such as concerts and pizza shops???

I’ve been living on the East Coast for over 40 years and I couldn’t figure out for the life of me what SYMS stood for. I thougnt it was some kind of roshei tavos. Maybe if they wrote it Syms instead of SYMS more people would “get it”.
We try to patronize the frum stores exclusively. It’s worth the extra money not to be bombarded by all the pritzus.
Will Syms be open on Thursday, even though it’s a holiday, since it’s in middle of the Bash? Will the Wednesday or Friday hours be affected?
syms is not what it used to be.
On YW we bash each other all year round, and it’s free. I think that is a better deal.
