So another year has passed and we are facing the anniversary of the WTC attacks once again.
Many have been affected directly, many indirectly.
What words of support can be given to the survivors who have had physical and/or emotional distress due to this violence?

TIA
September 11, 2011 5:05 pm at 5:05 pm #809288am yisrael chaiParticipantHellooooooooooooooooooo! Is anybody there????????????????
Does anyone out there relate to this?
September 11, 2011 6:34 pm at 6:34 pm #809289mikehall12382MemberSometimes there are little words of comfort. The only thing you can say is that HAshem has a plan, we are not privy to it, but we must have emunah… What else can you tell a child who lost a parent a man that lost his wife or patents that lost a child?
I’m also saddened that no one has added to this thread
September 11, 2011 8:52 pm at 8:52 pm #809290GumBallMemberIm So sad!! its so horrible i just watched a lot of Traumatizing videos!! I was only a kid then like 4 yrs old…:(
September 11, 2011 9:21 pm at 9:21 pm #809291I can only tryMemberIt’s always a tough day.
We just have to be thankful we survived, appreciate what we have, and keep going.
September 11, 2011 9:42 pm at 9:42 pm #809292springbok007ParticipantBeing there today helped add another level of closure to this awful situation. So many people frum and otherwise refer to September 11 as the annual yortzeid when in fact the date is the 23rd of Elul. We are yidden and perhaps observing this day would be very helpful to those who lost on that tragic day. Let us the glean the positive we can from such tough day.
September 11, 2011 9:49 pm at 9:49 pm #809293miriam613Memberi dont think there are words to describe the feeling(unfortunately i was there). all we can say is that everything that happens if for a reason and HASHEM is in charge. we should also know that “HE DOES NOT SLEEP NOR SLUMBER AND IS ALWAYS WITH US”. hopefully we will know of no more suffering and this year will bring the geula!!!
September 12, 2011 6:16 pm at 6:16 pm #809294am yisrael chaiParticipantThanks so much for your helpful responses.
September 13, 2011 10:52 am at 10:52 am #809295springbok007ParticipantAll these wonderful thoughts. This is a tragedy of epic proportions due to the fact that there is/was no private mourning period. There are always two yortzeids every year, September 11 and the actual on Elul 23. Sometimes it becomes overwhelming especially for those of us who have lost, getting professional help is not the worst idea in the world. It is best to recognize this sooner than later.
September 13, 2011 4:22 pm at 4:22 pm #809296mikehall12382Memberthis year it hit me harder than years pass, maybe because of the 10th anniversary there was more media…
There are some lasting images I will never get out of my head, I feel for those people, and those they left behind. Reliving that day puts things in perspective…..
September 13, 2011 5:38 pm at 5:38 pm #809297am yisrael chaiParticipantRav Paysach Krohn said that besides the significance of the date being 9-1-1 emergency, that 9/11 also hints to the NINTH day of the ELEVENTH month…that is Tisha B’Av.
September 13, 2011 6:02 pm at 6:02 pm #809298kapustaParticipantI was thinking it was really a shame I didn’t think to look at some of the footage over Tisha B’Av. While I’m not c’v comparing, it makes it easier to relate.
September 14, 2011 3:46 am at 3:46 am #809299am yisrael chaiParticipantKapusta
Hopefully this tisha b’Av will turn into a simcha as Moshiach would have arrived, so there will no longer be a need to look over the footage.
