FYI, for all those wanting spell check…I don’t know about you, but my computer when I write a message in the post box, any word that I by mistake misspell gets underlined in red. If you right click on the misspelled word, it will give you choices of the correction. For example: if I by mistake type in “teh” instead of the, the “teh” gets underlined in red, and so I right click on “teh” and it gives me choices like “the” or “tea” or “eh”..etc. So you guys (and gals, whichever you are) can do this with all the words that have a red line underneath and change it to the correct spelling.
However, I think you need to use the Mozilla Firefox browser and not Internet Explore Browser in order to have this feature.

Is there a way we can choose our own password? I didn’t read through this whole thread so possibly someone already asked, but it’s so annoying everytime I wana log in here I need to go to my email and copy it cuz my password is too long to remember.
Dovid_yehuda, you can do that if you click that you forgot your password, you’ll get a new one

Where it says on top: “Welcome, dovid_yehuda! | Log Out”
Click on your screen name (dovid_yehuda)
Then click on Edit. You will there be able to change your password to whatever you like.
dovid_yehuda and myshadow: yes, there is a way to change, when you are logged in, when it says on the top left, “welcome,dovid_yehuda or myshadow” click on your name, you will then see in your profile “edit” when you click edit, you will see a part to change your password.

When i enter i first need to scroll through all the links on the side of the page, then to the second side, which is the topics. When I finally click on one, it tells me it cannot be loaded (too large).
I was just wondering if there could be a .mobi version or something like that

I think my worst one is when a moderator comes on, approves one or two posts and then LEAVES without updating all the threads. I mean, I understand if they’re busy but it’s such a tease!
I agree moish is making a valid point. Clearly the mods can come and go as they please. But I think it would be a very good idea to post comments in the order received — otherwise it becomes very difficult for readers to follow a thread. If an older post is approved after readers already say newer posts on the thread, most people will not realize there are new posts (that are older than some they already read) and miss it — since they recall the last message they read, and don’t look for older messages in the thread – assuming they read all loder messages already.
ATT MODS: i’m just wondering why sometimes- actually most of the time when i post it is posted in the thread but on the CR cover sheet it doesn’t show the time i posted it and my name-
ex: if curious posted 12 min b4 me then it will still say curious… 12 min… :o(

JayMatt, I (and I believe some of the other mods too) sometimes access the site from my cell phone. I do wish that there was a special mobile version as it does get tedious at times.

The name and time stamp show the most recently approved post, not necessarily the last one on the page (which is the most recently written).

on the CR homepage, if you click on the number of hours or minutes in the freshness column, it will take you to the bottom of the page so you see the most recent posts without scrolling all the way down.

I dunno if this already exists, cuz I aint no mod. But I really hope there’s a “recycling bin” for all our deleted posts and that every morning the big YWN boss reviews all the deleted posts so that the mods can actually be rated and have a performance review.
I know of a lot of posts that were deleted and (probably) not a single other mod got to see it and judge if it should have been deleted. It just went whoop- in the trash. and that was that with my poor old post
