Well, the post before you actually made sense. You should take credit for it.
Are you sure it really wasn’t you at a time you were of sound mind?? (:
January 27, 2010 5:15 pm at 5:15 pm #1225336bombmaniacParticipantThank you volvie. I am actually one of two multiple personalities. I am the one who thinks before acting and tries to act in a manner of politeness. My alter-ego is a bit more excitable than me (or is it “than I”). Perhaps soneone can clarify this grammatical question for me. That would be nice.
January 27, 2010 5:48 pm at 5:48 pm #1225337haifagirlParticipantThan I.
January 27, 2010 5:57 pm at 5:57 pm #1225338bombmaniacParticipantThank you haifagirl. That was most considerate of you to take the time to answer my question. I hope to see more of your helpful messages in the future.

January 28, 2010 5:38 am at 5:38 am #1225340smartcookieMemberHaifagirl- why does “than I” seem wrong to me. Wouldn’t it be more correct to say “than myself”?
Rabbi rocks- yes I think everyone needs a search button here. And mods, please don’t tell me to use google. Too much of a bother.

I don’t remember the technical term for it (and I’m way too lazy to look it up), but it’s an incomplete sentence. Completed it would be:
My alter-ego is a bit more excitable than I am.
You are allowed to leave off that last verb, but you can’t change the pronoun.
February 8, 2010 12:09 am at 12:09 am #1225342potpieMemberPerhaps there can be a camp forum? Because there are currently 3-4 threads about camp in the coffee room, and they are all in different forums, making them very hard to locate.

February 8, 2010 4:07 am at 4:07 am #1225344Pashuteh YidMemberCould somebody help me plese? Either I have been banned from main board, or there is a severe technical issue which has prevented my posts from appearing for about 2 months now. I also need to constantly relog in, whereas in the past, the system would remember me for long periods of time.
If you need any info or email address to authenticate, please post where I should send it to.
Thanks.
In the last 2 months you have 54 posts on the main board, the most recent one, other than this one, was 1 week ago. You do also have a number of deleted posts.

February 8, 2010 7:28 am at 7:28 am #1225346bombmaniacParticipantFYI…those last few posts arent me…lol schizo. :D:D:D
February 8, 2010 7:22 pm at 7:22 pm #1225347Pashuteh YidMemberThanks for looking into it, but I haven’t seen any of them. Maybe I am having a technical issue with cookies as somebody here said. Were those deleted posts deleted by me, or by the mods?
You have 54 posts on the board in the last two months. You can see them, anyone can see them. That has nothing to do with cookies. If you want to see the most recent one, it is in the “Internet Lockdown” thread:
http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/internet-lockdown
The posts that you don’t see were deleted. Fifty four were NOT deleted and are visible to you.
February 11, 2010 6:08 pm at 6:08 pm #1225348potpieMemberThank you Y.W. Editor. Now, the only question is, is it possible to transfer the camp threads to the camp forum to make them easier to find?
February 11, 2010 6:13 pm at 6:13 pm #1225349Y.W. EditorKeymasterPost the links here, and we will move them.
February 11, 2010 6:20 pm at 6:20 pm #1225350potpieMemberThese are the 3 threads that I know about, although there might be more:

http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/touring-camps-in-israel
http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/camp-mishkon
Thank you!
February 11, 2010 8:53 pm at 8:53 pm #1225351potpieMemberI see that my request was fulfilled. Thank you so much!
February 24, 2010 9:02 pm at 9:02 pm #1225352Pashuteh YidMemberDear Mods and Tech Support,
I realize I have been able to post in the Coffee Room. My problem is on the main YW news page. I believe I have not had a post that was put through in at least a month or two. Can you check on that and refer me to my latest post there? Just today I tried to post the following on the Rabbi Avi Weiss story, but do not see that it went through. I am wondering if I have been banned from there. I reposted it, but got the msg, “Duplicate comment detected. It looks like you have already said that.”
Please help and let me know what the problem is. If I have been banned, I fully accept it, but would at least like to know what is going on. I have recently installed a bunch of Windows Updates and checked my settings and do not see anything wrong.
You need to contact YW Editor here:
February 25, 2010 12:41 am at 12:41 am #1225353Pashuteh YidMemberDear Mods,
I tried that about a month ago and did not receive any response. Could you kindly contact the powers that be on my behalf and see if they can possibly resolve this?
Thanks
February 25, 2010 2:50 am at 2:50 am #1225354YW Moderator-80MemberIf you didn’t receive a response, that probably was the response. I would suggest you try it again just to be sure.
March 1, 2010 9:40 pm at 9:40 pm #1225355Pashuteh YidMemberMod-80, I tried “Contact Us” again a few days ago and still no response that I can see. If there is a technical issue, it may prevent my “contact us” post from getting through, just as it has my regular news posts.
Could you please relay this to the staff at the main news board? I could be banned, but my CR post on the Haiti Earthquake was transferred to the main board as a Mailbag Letter, so I don’t believe that is the case. Today a simple post on the article of “No school on Shushan Purim” didn’t even make it. I don’t think a single post was put through for about 2 months. Please look into this, and have someone get back to me with some info. Should I make a new username?
Thanks
March 2, 2010 11:20 pm at 11:20 pm #1225356d aMemberI see the CR is getting “Taged” but I don’t see it being used on the Main CR page. Maybe, we can have a place to go to popular tags on the Main CR page?
March 5, 2010 1:50 am at 1:50 am #1225357YW Moderator-42Moderatord a, you can always click http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/tags/ to see all the tags.
March 5, 2010 5:39 pm at 5:39 pm #1225358d aMemberThanks 42, but can we see more options for Tags soon? On the Main CR Page!
March 17, 2010 2:59 am at 2:59 am #1225359d aMemberIs there a way that we can know when our posts get put onto the CR. Here’s what I mean:
I write this post. I click submit. I see my post on my page. No one else does until it gets moderated. How do I know when everyone else sees my post? (and I don’t mean logging from my CR account). Maybe, the EDIT button can stay on until the post is moderated and then no more EDIT. This way, you solve the problem that Mod 99 said on the “New Moderating System” thread, and also alows us users to know when our posts are posted!
A response would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
March 18, 2010 11:02 pm at 11:02 pm #1225360d aMember“Click on the number of minutes in the column: “freshness”. This will take you to the most recent post.”
In about 1-2 minutes. Is someone fixing this slow problem???
April 15, 2010 7:36 am at 7:36 am #1225361d aMemberHi. What’s happening with the Blackberry CR app?

September 16, 2010 7:18 pm at 7:18 pm #1225367kapustaParticipantIs there any way to view all threads not divided by section? Kind of like the main CR page but not limited to the top 40 (?!) threads.
September 16, 2010 9:50 pm at 9:50 pm #1225368d aMemberI repeat. Hi. What’s happening with the Blackberry CR app?
September 19, 2010 2:58 am at 2:58 am #1225369KashaMemberIs there any way to view all threads not divided by section? Kind of like the main CR page but not limited to the top 40 (?!) threads.
I don’t believe so. Such a feature has previously been suggested. I agree it would be very useful. It should be very easy to implement too.
September 19, 2010 3:21 am at 3:21 am #1225370rebdonielMemberAdd a section on lomdus (similar to that in the Artscroll sefer A Daily Dose of Torah), and allow one to change their password to something they’ll remember.
September 19, 2010 3:25 am at 3:25 am #1225371KashaMemberrebdoniel: On top of the screen (in the coffee room) it says “Welcome, rebdoniel | Log Out”. Click on “rebdoniel” (your screen name) and then click “EDIT” on the top right of the screen. You can then change your password.
September 19, 2010 5:08 am at 5:08 am #1225372rebdonielMemberThanks kasha.
September 19, 2010 5:12 am at 5:12 am #1225373commonsenseParticipanti would also like the posts to be numbered. when people refer back to old posts it’s sometimes hard to find which post they are referring to.
September 19, 2010 5:36 am at 5:36 am #12253742qwertyParticipantI would like a way to go directly to the last post of any thread. Here are my suggestions how it can be implemented:
Next to a thread name have a little symbol and by clicking it you’ll go directly to the last post.
Or by clicking on the number of posts which are already written after the thread name.
Or let each user set up his preference (also go to first or always go to last post)
And the last way is the most simple but least effective way is once the person entered a thread he’ll see a link to click so he can go directly to the last post whether its on this page or not.
September 19, 2010 5:42 am at 5:42 am #1225375KashaMember2qwerty: That is already possible.
Under “FRESHNESS” on the main coffee room page, click whichever thread you wish where it says how many “minutes” or “hours” or “days” ago, and it will bring you to the last post of the thread.
September 19, 2010 5:50 am at 5:50 am #1225376kapustaParticipantUnder “FRESHNESS” on the main coffee room page, click whichever thread you wish where it says how many “minutes” or “hours” or “days” ago, and it will bring you to the last post of the thread.
I used to do that but since the new site has appeared, the page gets cut off. Any suggestions?
September 20, 2010 4:23 pm at 4:23 pm #1225377erm_saywhatMemberWe need a YWN iPhone app and iPad app. That would be awesome.
YWN on my iPad… yea…
😀
September 20, 2010 6:58 pm at 6:58 pm #1225378d aMemberYou see that? Noone notices things that are [sticky]! After I said about un[sticky]ing it, did people notice it.
Edit: OOPS! I thought I was on the “Your Feedback: New YWN Website” thread.
November 9, 2010 2:37 am at 2:37 am #1225381WIYMemberCan you guys please sticky a thread about how to do things like making bold, italic, block quote…?

November 9, 2010 11:02 pm at 11:02 pm #1225384phrumMemberA CR Shaddchan.
November 9, 2010 11:22 pm at 11:22 pm #1225385d aMemberphrum, I don’t think that can be done as an “improvement”. I think you’d need a whole new site…
November 9, 2010 11:31 pm at 11:31 pm #1225386phrumMemberThe point would be to redt shidduchs between members in the CR.
November 10, 2010 12:06 am at 12:06 am #1225387OfcourseMemberd a, not neccessarily a whole new site. There could be a Shidduch section where people post a paragraph about a single with an email address to respond to. The YW editor can ask for references from all those desiring to post singles. It could be a very useful tool. I bet there are already accomplished Shadchanim who are regular CR members, who would be happy about this new addition, widening their horizons.
