Forget the animal rights or whatever else issues for this one.
From a purely cleanliness perspective, how does someone stomp on an insect, killing him/her/both with his or her sandal or shoe, and then go on with life as if there aren’t insect death remains on their soles?
Do people think about the dead insect the next time they wear said footwear? Is there discomfort when getting home and leaving the shoes by the entrance or where ever else they go?
Do people just not think about the details and thus they are okay with it?

They wash the sole of the shoe and try not to think about it too much.
