He was the apple of many people’s eye and now that he has died so young has shaken many to the core sending some to the pits and leaving a huge slice of opportunity open. He apeeled to many in the technology world, leaving his competitors no option but to try to stalk him to copy his secrets.
“If we should ever witness apple falling it would lead to consequences of utmost gravity” says leading expert Issac Newton. He continued “The only person to successfully succeed in shooting apple down was William Tell.”

He himself only began to contribute to yenna machla research when he was stricken. He is not someone who should be remembered in our world.
He also abandoned an out-of-wedlock child until he no longer could do so – the child’s mother was on welfare until he admitted paternity (probably to avoid a costly lawsuit).
His heritage was yishmoeli (he was adopted and his biological father is from Syria), and at the end of the day, the pere odom is always there.
The technology he introduced is highly overpriced and gimmicky. Everything Apple comes out with is quickly superseded with better and more economical alternatives from elsewhere. Jobs was more a pitchman than anything, and with him gone, the apple will soon be but a core.
Jobs had one real opportunity and blew it – that was licensing the technology for computers to run on the Apple operating system. He blew it again with iPhone and iPad; licensing the operating system for these would also have been a good idea because the Apple made gadgets are very costly especially outside of the US. In the end, Android will make applesauce out of Apple the way Microsoft did.
In the end, Apple will be a flash in the pan. If you have Apple stock, sell it.

O.K. so Steve jobs was a brilliant inventor and visionary, the likes of which come around only once in a few generations (I’m talking of the elite of the eite).
However, I have a question, and I’m just throwing this out there, please don’t come with angry tones or screaming at my “frum” mishuga philosophies, I just want to hear serious answers. Is the world a better place, with all that Steve Jobs invented? Better said, in a yiddishe hashkofa setting, did we gain, or did he create gadgets that basically were detrimental in the hands of today’s generation? We have to admit, yeridas hadoros is real, and with all these technological gadgets, didn’t he just invent “lethal weapons”, accessible to all of us? I know everything can be used for good or for bad, like a knife, or even a gun. But in general, with all that’s going on today, with kids going off the derech, L”O, and the amount of crime in this generation, is this world a BETTER place, or is his inventions a direct/indirect CAUSE for the filth/frivolousness/perversion/corruption of today’s society?
How would the world look today if we never had a Steve Jobs?

1. If millions are willing to pay the price then it shouldnt be called overpriced.
2.Gimmicky? What does that mean? My mac works great without any gimmicks or updates every two days.
3. Gimmicky? There are way fewer viruses, trojans, malware, spyware etc. on a Mac than a PC.

3. “Everything”?? Not even close. Ask anyone that has had a PC and a Mac and they will agree that the Mac is head and shoulders above the rest.
4. More economical alternatives- True, but inferior quality. A sweater from Old Navy is also an alternative to a sweater from Banana Republic, but the quality is inferior.

6. One real opportunity? What are you talking about? You are totally ignoring every Apple product he created- Mac, IPod, Iphone, IPad etc
7. Did you know that Jobs is the one who rescued Apple from almost bankruptcy with his innovations? Think 10 years back, few people had any Apple product. Now, who doesnt have at least an IPod?

I myself don’t have any Apple products, since they are quite expensive, but I appreciate the unbelievable impact he had on our society, and even the world. He made an enormous contribution to the ever changing methods of standardized product design and function. I wouldn’t necessarily put him up with the likes of Eli Whitney and the Shakers yet, but he is definitely close.
October 6, 2011 2:57 pm at 2:57 pm #819110ToiParticipanti dont understand this “theory of contribution”. it basically seems to state that anyone that made a tangible or lasting impact head and shoulders above the rest in any given field is to be nearly diefied. great. lets diefy bob marley. are you people nuts?? a person’s genius is Hashems gift to him, its not his attribute to be praised for. the test is what you do with it. jobs did nothing good for klal yisroel, and, if anyhting, there are way more neshamos affected by spiritually dangerous content then there were before apple became a name to be reckoned with. now obviously it would have happened without him too, because in some way this fits with Hashems plan, but we dont let a murderer off the hook just because in shomayim the victim was michuyav misa. and to raise the man??? we need to look at ourselves seriously and ask if Hashem agrees with us mourning this man. i, for one, think he doesnt.

I think that if G-d gave someone, Jew or non-Jew, a talent, ability, or skill, and the person uses it in a way the makes a positive impact on their culture or on the world, even if YOU didn’t benefit from it, that is something to respect and appreciate. And you know what, Bob Marley made a tremendous contribution to the world of music. Yes, I know what he was and I know what he did, but I don’t just say “Oh, he did such and such, so I can’t appreciate anything from him.” That, to me, is closed-minded, selfish, and looking at things negatively. And whether or not we should be mourning Steve Jobs, we should be able to see the contribution he has made using the talents G-d gave him in a positive way.

Are you saying we should not recognize him and thank him for his contribution?
Using your logic, the same way a murderer is punished severly for his actions even though it was Hashem’s plan, certainly one should acknowledge and praise someone’s positive contribution even though it was Hashem’s plan!
I cant say we are necessarily mourning his death, but we are definitely recognizing his contribution to this world.
That said, Baal Habooze does raise a very good point that the frum world may have been better off without his products. But like everything else in the world- and Toi what you said “the test is what you do with it”- our test is how we use his products. Do we download movies onto out IPods, or get the ShasPd and the other thousands of electronic shiurim available?
Do we surf the web and sites we should not visit, or do we spend our time in the Coffee Room!! :-p

The rest of your post shows only a superficial understanding of tech and business – but who won in computers? Wintel or Apple? All of these gadgets have their place, but the PC is and will be an absolute necessity for years to come.
Apple was a shooting star. It went high, came back to earth once, and now will die off like Kodak is doing. The lack of an iPhone 5 announcement and the Samsung lawsuit over the 4s is the shape of things to come.

But clearly in our day and age, these e-gadgets were fundamental tools used for terrible acts and wickedness in this world. Sure we can use these inventions for business, for gemilas chassodim, and other worthy uses, but he should have taken all POTENTIAL crime into account and integate a prevention feature in them. If that’s not possible, then y’ gotta think twice! I know I would!

You can download Tanach for 99 cents too
How many MORE seforim could you have between costs and space (Seforim take up space) if you could store them all in your iPad (or Kindle)

how many people DONT buy seforim because they are expensive or take up too much space.

If I pick up a sefer to look at it, I only have in front of my eyes a sefer. If I pick up an Apple product, I have in front of me not only what the contents of the sefer, but a host of very objectionable material as well.

Seforim will be much easier to obtain.
Doesnt matter if Apple was a Johnny come lately, they made in mainstream

There’s NOTHING like learning from a good old fashioned sefer, taking in the scent from the binding, drinking the delicious words thirstily, feeling the pages in betwen your fingers. E-Sefer? doesn’t even sound geshmak.

In addition, he did not choose to use his unfortunate circumstance of being relinquished by his natural parents to be given away almost immediately to strangers.
He also did not give up when he was down and out, forgave and came back to help his company which kicked him to the curb.
Nobody’s perfect.
It’s our choice how we’d like to see things.

I am sure some said the same thing when the printing press was invented. There is a big difference between a manuscript and a printed book.
Today it sounds a little nutty, but in a few years everyone will have it and it wont seem so unusual anymore
