    I’ve grown up hearing that a sefer needs a double covering (ex. in plastic in a pocket) to be able to be brought in the bathroom. I would like to know if there is a source for it?

    It says in yirmiyah that he took the sefer and put it in a pot.

    3rd Perek of Brachos. And at least one of those covers cannot be Meyuchad for the Sefer.
