February 24, 2022 5:37 pm at 5:37 pm #2063756GadolHadofiParticipantFor the past year, brainless Brandon, the drooling, incontinent dolt has presided over resurgent COVID, Afghanistan ruled by the Taliban, rampant violent crime, uncontrolled anti-Semitism, rising anarchy, invading illegal immigrants, spiraling inflation, skyrocketing energy prices, supply chain mayhem and more. Now, the laughably weak, non-performance of our napper-in-chief has resulted in a tyrant brazenly attacking a neighboring country and possibly even wider conflict.
Boy are we lucky.

81,283,098 American voted for Biden. He has the decades of international experience and constitution to make the important decisions during this crisis.
All of the Trump supporters don’t know, and will never know, what Trump would be doing in the current situation. There is no rhyme or reason why Putin would not have invaded Ukraine if Trump is president. And there is no rhyme or reason why Trump wouldn’t be doing the exact same thing as Biden.

Invaded Crimea during Obama
Nothing during Trump
Now Ukraine during Biden

Ya, decades of experience in being wrong on every foreign policy issue! That’s not coming from me, the Washington Post agrees. “While Biden was “a man of integrity” who was “impossible not to like” Gates wrote in a 2014 memoir, “he has been wrong on nearly every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades.”

Your xplanations seem not to pass Karl Popper’s test: a theory is something that can predict a hypothetical fact that can be later shown to be true or false. If a theory is not disprovable in this sense, then it is not a theory. Similar notion exists in complexity of data analysis: if you have a model that has so many parameters that they can be changed to fit any data that you might have, then this model is not good.
In this case, you are giving explanations to the past events. Go back to your thoughts (and maybe posts) pre-election, pre-inflation, pre-Kabul airport, pre-Ukraine invasion and ask your old self –
would you consider such events signs of strength or failure? similarly, go back to Trump election night and list everything bad that you thought will happen. Interestingly, people who are putting money where their mouths are took about 8 hours to do this analysis: when it became clear that Trump is winning (2016, not 2020, just making sure), the market tanked. In several hours, it starting going up for next 4 years.February 24, 2022 9:58 pm at 9:58 pm #2063878GadolHadofiParticipantDorah,

Anyone who still thinks we would be better off with Trump is a either a Putin Propagandist or a Useful Idiot. Trump has been a Putin fan for a long time and said so back in 2007! In 2016 he forced the Republican National Convention to gut a plank that supported Ukraine. In 2018 he threw all US intelligence agencies under the bus, denying the danger that they claimed Putin was, and said he believed Putin. In 2019 he tried to block security assistance to Ukraine. The question is, is Trump himself a Fellow Traveler or a Useful Idiot?

Anyone who believes otherwise has no grip on reality.
Under Trump we had the highest unemployment rate since the Great Depression, negative economic growth overall, and a totally botched response to the COVID pandemic. Now the unemployment rate is down to historically low levels, the fastest economic growth in almost four decades, and the problem with COVID is idiots who refuse to get vaccinated or wear masks, not the government response. Oh and the infrastructure bill Trump promised but never wrote got enacted and we are finally going to start fixing water systems, bridges and tunnels, transit systems, and the like.

One of the more breathtakingly stupid comments posted recently. Unless you are living in a cave or your own version of a political echo chamber, you should care a lot since they will exert a lot more control over the lives of yidden in the U.S. and EY than your 20 percenters. Even among the latter, there is a considerable divergence among those hold by “traditional” and conservative values but share the disgust and contempt held by the 80 percenters for the #45.

You don’t know if it would be “Now Ukraine during Trump’s second term.”
You don’t even know why Putin decided to sacrifice the lives of millions of people now to attack Ukraine. It is not rational.
Whatever the reason is , nothing an American President could have done to stop him.
How would Trump have stopped him?Hadofi,
You mean like boneheaded decisions to try to make peace with NK’s dictator ?

Robert Gates also said the following in the WSJ. ” While it is certainly fair to quote my criticisms of Joe Biden’s record on national security, fairness requires me to note for the record that those comments written in 2014 also noted that Mr. Biden was a man of genuine integrity and character. It is also worth noting that I wrote in these very pages that Donald Trump “is stubbornly uninformed about the world and how to lead our country and government, and temperamentally unsuited to lead our men and women in uniform. He is unqualified and unfit to be commander-in-chief”
I think Robert Gates would better left out of the conversation. “Lo m’duvshach v’lo m’uktzach.”Lost spark,

He wasn’t the only one and the choice wasn’t between killing or not killing him. It was also Robert Gates originally (later changed his mind) and the choice was whether to wait on more intel to go into Pakistan or to stage a raid based on the current intel.February 25, 2022 12:25 am at 12:25 am #2063967GadolhadorahParticipant“You took him out of context..”
With Trump, there is no “context”. Have you ever heard one of his call-ins to Fox & Friends or one of the conservative talk-radio shows. Its a non-stop, free-flowing rant combining self-adulatory hyperbole, fiction with no beginning or end. The “hosts” or “anchors” rarely interrupt when he fails to answer a question or goes off on a tangent and even when they do, he just talks right over them. At various times, he has expressed admiration, “Love”, great respect etc. for the world’s greatest tyrants and despots, including the leaders of China, Russia, North Korea, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Brazil.

Religious Jews do not have to kowtow to anything irreligious Jews believe and they will exert no control over us. Their increasingly deviant lifestyles and growing disdain towards Israel should only strengthen our commitment to our own beliefs. Unfortunately, the drive to assimilate deeper and faster into American society has guaranteed their demise. Reform and Conservative temples are being sold off to Orthodox institutions in every major Jewish community and the gentile children and grandchildren of their aging members have no interest whatsoever in Judaism.

Just want to point out that when I quote Gates saying that Mr. Biden was a man of genuine integrity and character , you seem to dismiss that as not a defense of my guy. Why ?
The statement about Biden and the last 40 years is superficial, generic and it is ridiculously funny that you think I actually need to defend my guy against it. As Biden would say , C’mon man.
Do I have to defend against people calling him sleepy Joe ?
Maybe report back on how Biden was wrong on every major foreign policy and national security issue over the past four decades, then we can discus it.
Ben Shapiro has totally biased political opinions . They are not facts. I don’t need to defend my guy against him. (Robert Gates , actually was a leader in multiple administrations. )February 27, 2022 12:00 am at 12:00 am #2064362jackkParticipantGadol Hadofi,

Going to college does not make a person into a liberal. Eight of the nine current Supreme Court justices went to Harvard or Yale for their JD. Barrett went to Rhodes College and Notre Dame.
Every republican senator and almost all republican congressman went to college.
Everyone that spoke at CPAC yesterday probably went to college.“When someone openly supports Biden it’s either they want a government handout, or are blinded by what the colleges have indoctrinated them with. I feel sorry for both parties.”
Or they looked into the Torah and see that Hashem tells you to care for the sick, poor, hungry, widows and oppressed. My Torah doesn’t say , “Make sure the rich get tax breaks.”February 27, 2022 9:12 am at 9:12 am #2064398GadolHadofiParticipantjackk:

He did exactly what an American President is supposed to do.
He talked to Putin and tried to prevent his attack. Although Putin tried to put up numerous smokescreens to make the world believe that he was being attacked first, Biden made it clear that Putin had no logical reason to invade Ukraine.
He spoke to Zelensky and assured him that America is on his side. No threats. No hints at quid pro quo. (NONE OF THE BALONEY THAT TRUMP DID).
He talked to the EU and NATO and other allies and formed a world wide coalition against Putin and Russia.
He is supporting the country under attack and sending assistance. The Ukrainians are not going to give up the fight. They will fight to death.
The russian stock market will be close to zero tomorrow and russian money useless. Russian people will suffer tremendously for the actions of their Autocratic leader.
Russian banks won’t be able to keep afloat without access to SWIFT.
Russian oligarachs won’t be able to use their billions in foreign bank accounts.
Russia lost it’s gas pipeline to Germany.
This is all just a start.
Russian and Putin are going to lose even more in the coming days. There already are casualties on the russian side.Your hatred of Biden is blinding you to his excellent leadership . He is a great uniter and it is clear to see.
I will ask once more. Please tell us all what Trump would have done to prevent Putin from attacking Ukraine.
