The little kid inside me is very excited about it, looking forward to spend again the day playing in the snow with the children. How do you feel about the snow?
January 26, 2011 9:44 pm at 9:44 pm #732770yentingyentaParticipantas long as it doesnt ruin my commute to NYC, i have no problem with the snow. the cold and the slush on the streets after the snow is a whole different story

January 26, 2011 10:26 pm at 10:26 pm #732772ProfessionalMemberSorry I am unsure how to create a new post, can anyone help with directions?
will post here another q, my apology to OP:
Friend went shopping with me, after filling up her cart with Kol Tuv, she swiped her benefits card. She purchased items I would love to buy, but I dont, unless its a super speacial occasion. She explained the kids “love Sushi”, for one. Large Salmon package, you name it. They both are jobless and get Tzedaka, large family.
Now, last week of the month, she tells me she has no $ left on her card to buy for shabbos.
I am tempted to explain how funding can be streched. Budgeting, etc. Is it appropriate for me to say anything?

Book a playdate with Blinky… she loves the snow!
I, for one, cannot wait for the Spring (only 7 weeks till Daylight Savings!).
I’m ok with a few days of the white stuff, but this is getting to be a bit much.

I do love spring too, everything has its time.
“Delighted to have a day off!!! T’is a good thing I’m still a teen (?) so I can still go sledding with some friends! Yippee!!!”
when you are not a teen anymore you can still go sleding if you pretend you are just doing it for the kids, like “oh its killing me to sled up and down but what does someone not do to make the kids happy”……
January 27, 2011 12:27 am at 12:27 am #732777always hereParticipantI enjoy seeing it & hearing it.. looking out the window from my toasty house, B’H.
as an aside: thank you grocery deliverymen for coming out in this sleet, frozen rain, hail or whatever it is & howling winds!!! 🙂

January 27, 2011 4:33 am at 4:33 am #732782eclipseMemberPROFESSIONAL!
It’s appropriate to be dan l’kaf z’chus!!
I work from home, but I also receive food stamps, and some tzedakah.
I sometimes buy salmon, too, because it’s one of the few proteins my underweight child eats.
And I buy the children their favorite foods now and then, because in a large family it makes the child feel remembered and cared about.
And the food stamp card does run out before the end of the month.
Whose concern is it but mine?
