My brother has ADHD and just bought himself a Kindle, so that it’ll be easier for him to focus on davening. Then he found out there are no siddur e-books. Is there a specific reason why? Am I allowed, halachaclly, to copy the text off some website and make it into a website?
A friend of mine has three or four different siddurim on his kindle. Since you can convert practically any file under the sun to amazon’s .mobi format, there is no reason you can’t put any pdf siddur off of hebrewbooks.org on your brother’s kindle.
Okim has an Android siddur that I did buy for $1.99. It has a clear easy on the format and has an option that I like. You can either display the entire siddur every day primly those tfillos needed. So, for example, yaale vyavo appeared on Rosh chodesh and on fast days Mincha has laining
Having a Siddur on kindle circumvents the issue of entering a bathroom/restroom with the kindle in your pocket or brief case, and not being to leave it outside unattended.
BTW are the downloads for a kindle Siddur in Nusach Ashkenaz?
