He was nearly assassinated twice, indicted on multiple counts(yes we can argue about lawfare and a bias judge/ag/jury), gets blasted every day by a hostile media, and doesn’t have full support of his own party, quite like Harris does/Biden did. Does he really like all this? Even if he were to win, he doesn’t have much support in DC and that’s important for the Federal Gov to run. What can he accomplish as president besides obstructing Democrat legislation? Yes the DC swamp has its issues. Yes politicians are corrupt. He was even a solid president. But as of today, he is around the same age as Biden. He won’t do it because he’s not a “quitter”. Does he even enjoy running right now? Does his family enjoy it?

There is no reason to believe that Vance would do better, The Republicans would have been better off 8 months ago Trump retired and endorsed Haley, who then chose Vance for Vice-President. Unlike the Democrats (whose split between WOKE and DINO is over ideology, e.g. WOKE supports Hamas and anti-Semitism in America, the DINOs don’t), the Republican split of MAGA vs RINO is based on style and campaign tactics more than ideology.

The “never Trumpers” are unlikely to rejoin the Republican party since they object to MAGA ideology and generally share the Democrat’s view that the Trump supporters are a “basket of deplorables”. TDS (Trump derangement syndrome) does make the Democrats act like idiots (e.g. calling for Trump’s imprisonment or execution, without or without a fair trial), and if Trump dropped out they might recover.

If Joe Biden offered a package deal pardoning both Trump and Hunter, I think he would gladly step back into well-deserved oblivion.

Donald Trump has one value: Donald Trump. He is so wrapped up in himself, repeating crazy conspiracies, unable to present a coherent plan, and getting more mentally unbalanced by the day. He does not respect the office or the Constitution. He does not belong in office.

If Trump or Harris announced that they would pardon anyone whose prosecution was politically motivated (excluding only who had inflicted physical harm on another person), including anyone arrested at a political demonstration or anyone whose conviction had been demanded by politicians or the media -they would be a national hero and win. Americans do not approve of the use of the legal system to harass political opponents and if either candidate adopts an anti-Lawfare policy it will seriously improve their chances of election.

This is true. It’s called middas haNetzach, the desire to win despite all odds. Obstacles only strengthen the fighting spirit.

Donald Trump has one value: Donald Trump. He is so wrapped up in himself

I think this is also true.

That doesn’t necessarily mean he would be bad at leading the country. He seemed good the first time around.

    MorrisHertz –

When Donald Trump was President, the economy was incredible, unemployment (real unemployment) negligible, inflation negligible, Iran was pushed back on its heels, Europe began supporting its own defense, North Korea and Russia were afraid to start trouble, Arab nations sought peace with Israel, our border was secure, millions of illegals were not flowing – including terrorists, rapists, etc. – across our borders, our friends were supported and our enemies were afraid. They made up lies about him and he defeated every one of them. They tried finding anything that would stick. Eventually Covid became a thing and they (the swamp) managed to shut down the world’s economy sending the world into chaos as they realized perhaps Covid would finally be the thing that defeated him. And the swamp finally managed – barely – to find enough suitcases of ballots to manage to expel him.

The world was as calm and successful and productive as I remember during Trump’s presidency until the swamp/media arranged to convince the world Covid was the plague instead of the flu, shut down the economy, and plunge the world into chaos.

I would love to have him managing the world again and his policies. Right now we live in chaos.

JB reluctantly adopted some of the DJT policies – vaccines, Chinese sanctions, opposition to Nordstream, closing the border … if Ms. Harris-Emhoff signs a pledge to continue and adopt other common sense policies, then DJT does not need to run. Maybe Ms. President should also appoint DGT Chief of Staff so that he can help select people with business and military experience. She can continue running around the country generating spontaneous joy.

yes, he should step down – but very gingerly.
after all, he is a very old man, one false step and his bone-spurned feet will act up on him
also, he should watch out and not step down, or on, some dog skeletons recently consumed by his enemies.

    > after all, he is a very old man,

Bunch of dems are parroting this. Hutzpah, of course. This is after trying to run an older candidate and repeating that age does not matter – and not even bothering to explain their leaders conspired to hide JB’s mental conditions for a year or more. Now, I understand why the TV heads are saying that – they hope to affect 2% of voters who can’t make a decision – a very flaky group. Why someone will post this in a place populated by (mostly) straight-thinking Yidden, I think you are wasting your keystrokes.

You forgot to mention the car with bomb near his rally, at 2 of his rallies people got sick (which were probably chemical/radiowave attacks). The good thing is all those cats that he saved in OH gave him an honorary 9 lives, so he is strong as ever and nothing will stop him from finishing his job.

Trump must step up, and fix America, not step down.
