    Rashi says that Yosef hints to brothers that he speaks loshon kodesh. r Twersky asks what is so special about ivrit!? after all, they had an interpreter who also spoke it… his answer: loshon kodesh is about speaking in a kodesh way… so if you claim you speak it, please make sure you actually do

    We see that America isn’t makpid on its citizens knowing the language (המבין יבין), so I would say the answer is no

    We said in slichos today Asoroh Beteves (fast of the 10th if teves) that on the 8th of teves the Torah was translated to greek which was a sad day. We should not require to translate as something is always lost in translation.
