I don’t shave daily, I shave erev shabbos so the hair has grown past a bit of stubble. I do my shaving in the bathroom over the sink and I find that it is messy. There are always hairs getting all over the bathroom vanity. Just wondering if anyone has any shaving tips (other than shave more often) so that its less messy or easier to clean up?

    Thanks.

Tell your wife to clean it up. That should do the trick.

The best and most chumradika eitza would be to just grow a beard! But if you are not holding ther than either you should shave over the sink, not over the mirror! Or you can get a trimmer that has a suction vacume in the back, (they usually dont work as well)

Groise Chuchem, spread a newspaper over the sink, when you’re done, throw the newspaper in the garbage. That should not be too difficult.

Place a couple tissues over the sink like drop-cloths when painting. When done, pick them up carefully and most of the hairs are cleaned up.

Maybe make them damp first so that the hairs stick to the tissues.

Another possibility is to put a basket that fits in your sink drain. Then all you have to do is spray water on the hairs so they fall into the basket. Then use a keenex and clean the basket, and put the basket back in the sink drain.

take two pages of unfolded newspaper spread across the sink shave over the newspaper then crumple it up and throw the whole thing out(ps the newspaper and the hair are biodegradable you can even toss it into the recycle bin)if you dont have newspaper a few paper towels

my husband spreads out a big piece of newspaper over the sink where he shaves. when he is done, he throws out the newspaper. I guess you could also do that with a big plastic bag, towel, etc. and no, we don’t get the newspaper, CVS.

Grow a beard then you don’t have to worry about cleaning up facial hairs.

Shave more often. You’ll feel better when you look more presentable.

Shave every day. Good grooming is also part of being an ehrlich Yid. I never understood why so many yeshiva leit, consistently look like they sleep in their clothes and have such poor personal habits. Is it really so difficult to keep one’s clothing presentable, shave and comb one’s hair? Is there such a dearth in kavod atzmi these days?

shaving more often will decrease your risk of stroke, heart attack and lung cancer, too, for reasons yet unknown:

My beard doesn’t grow quickly and I look neat for the most part. I’m not a shluchy guy.

    ron-

I believe you are misrepresenting the article. The focus was on the need to shave every day, regardless of whether or not one actually did shave. IOW, someone whose facial hair grows slowly enough that shaving every day is pointless appeared to have higher health risk.

    Sorry, WIY.

WIY- “I look neat for the most part” and what about the other part(s)? I looked up “shluchy” in English, Yiddish, German and Hebrew dictionaries, and found nothing. What language is it, and what does it mean? Moreover, my comments were something of a generalization of how yeshiva leit often look. I intended no real ad hominen comment.
