We must all remember one thing, the judge in this case is delivering a message from the True Judge. As to what that message is we need to look inwards. Hashem hardened Pharoah’s heart but also freed the Bnei Yisroel. Why did Hashem choose to harden the heart of Pharoah? Why is the heart of the judge in Iowa hardened?

June 22, 2010 1:42 pm at 1:42 pm #1114211SamShtarkMemberYou’re a little confused. The goyim are a sword let loose in the world, but they come from the cheit of all Jews, even those who don’t act like Jews.
The misdeeds of Israel (the state) and freiers do tremendous nezek to frum Yidden. “Eskadesh b’kroivi” That is why the freiers act with such zealousness to their rishus, they are intentionally holding back the geulah and making frum Yidden suffer for their aveirahs.
The answer to your question, which you should already, is Hashem hardened the heart of Paroh to make Hashem’s Name known in the world. Yehi ratzon that the same was true in this abortion of justice and that Sholom Mordechai ben Rivkah and all the emmesdike Yidden will be zoche to the geluah shalaimah immediately.
June 22, 2010 1:56 pm at 1:56 pm #1114212chesednameParticipantone lesson that no one is talking about.
the sentencing guidelines in America make no sense!!
From what i read she’s a tough judge, which might mean no anti semitism, just a very broken system.
June 22, 2010 3:00 pm at 3:00 pm #1114213aries2756ParticipantShe had a horse in the race. She was the one that signed the papers that set the raid in motion.
June 22, 2010 3:08 pm at 3:08 pm #1114214jewish girlMemberis rubashkin sentanced already or hes being sentanced?
June 22, 2010 6:56 pm at 6:56 pm #1114215oomisParticipantI think the sentencing is tomorrow, based on the decision made already today.
June 22, 2010 7:14 pm at 7:14 pm #1114216hereorthereMemberShe is “a tough judge” ONLY if she sentences murderers to the absolute maximim penalty no matter how young or old they are.
and if she has absolutely no mercy on drug dealers and gang bangers.
If they ALL always get the absolute maximum with no excises she is a tough judge.
Otherwise she is just another antisemite.
June 22, 2010 7:16 pm at 7:16 pm #1114217sm29ParticipantI went to a rally last night in La. They mentioned about other rallies that also occured globally. It moved me so much, so many Jews coming together for their brother. – They stressed that it’s Not about condoning negative activity, we should always do things ethically. It’s about being there for our brother during this hard ordeal when the goverment is exceedingly hard on him
I think that was probably the purpose of this hard ordeal; to bring us together.
May our achdus help to bring the geula closer
June 22, 2010 7:28 pm at 7:28 pm #1114218philosopherMemberI also think that Hashem wants us to be more b’achdus and also to remember what we keep on forgetting – that we are still in golus.
June 22, 2010 8:08 pm at 8:08 pm #1114219SamShtarkMemberClearheaded, true, but you’re preaching to the choir. Try telling it to the Israelis.
June 22, 2010 8:23 pm at 8:23 pm #1114220Yanky55ParticipantSamShtark-
Can you tell me where you took the quote “Eskadesh b’kroivi” from? As far as I know there is no such pasuk……
June 22, 2010 8:36 pm at 8:36 pm #1114221SamShtarkMemberYanky55 sorry bit of dislexia on my part..see Sefer Vayikra Perek Yud, posuk gimmel “B’krovi Ekadesh”…although there may be a Rashi that brings this loshon misoiras, I seem to remember but can’t find it now. Anyway the general meaning is still the same. SS
June 22, 2010 8:52 pm at 8:52 pm #1114222ShmeeloMemberSamshtark- Your attitude is strange to me. Events in the world, and especially blows to frum people are meant to teach us lessons, to call us to do teshuvah. I don’t think the idea is to look at the negativity in the world and say, if only everyone was frum we wouldn’t have these problems. Furthermore, we are all connected, if we were doing our job, learning, davening, and doing mitzvahs l’shma, and having full ahavas yisroel, there would be no frayah yidden.
June 22, 2010 9:06 pm at 9:06 pm #1114223chesednameParticipantSamShtark
we refrain from signing with 2 s’s.
does anyone know if the judge gave her ruling today?
June 22, 2010 9:11 pm at 9:11 pm #1114224WIYMemberYes its a big wake up call. Run your business squeaky clean or if you get caught there will be no mercy by the US govt. . Do I want Rubashkin to sit in jail? CHAS VESHALOM. Is 27 years excessive? YES! VERY! But maybe Hashem is telling us that we need to clean up our act. The fact is that a huge Chillul Hashem takes place every time a Yid is arrested. What we could do is make sure to be 100% honest in business.
Those of you who are in business with non Jews know good and well that there are plenty of opportunities to make a kiddush Hashem and go out of our way to be extra honest and kind and fair…
Its time to start following Shulchan Aruch as well as the 5th chelek.

June 22, 2010 9:43 pm at 9:43 pm #1114225emoticon613Memberlashontov – i like the periscope mashal. very accurate.
samshtark – it is not the freier’s fault necessarily – in fact, most of them (according to my rav and many of my teachers) are tinokos shenishbe’u and not responsible for their actions. that of course doesn’t refer to actual apikorsim, but even that is not easily defined by laypeople.
WE, you and me (well i can’t speak for you, but for myself), are the ones at fault, b/c WE know what is right and fall for the wrong sometimes anyway, and WE need to up our ante, not they, theirs.
when the top level is higher, automatically, the bottom rises with it.
may Hashem bring the geulah shelaima bekarov!
June 22, 2010 11:45 pm at 11:45 pm #1114226Pashuteh YidMemberSamShark, elsewhere you posted that Zionism is an Issur D’oraisa. That is a very interesting claim. Could you kindly post the verse from Chumash that says so?
June 23, 2010 12:23 am at 12:23 am #1114227Yanky55ParticipantMod-
Mind telling me what you thought was so bad about my question to Sam? I merely asked him how he knows what the cheshbon of HKB”H is i.e. saying that bad things happen to other Jews because of what happens in E”Y?
My point of asking him about the pasuk was, that the same way he cannot quote a pasuk correctly, he certainly doesn’t know why HKB”H does things.
June 24, 2010 12:44 am at 12:44 am #1114228mosheroseMemberIts terrible how the system is so AntiSemitic and against us. He was found not guilty at his trial and still put into jail for 27 years. Anyone who wasnt a yid would have walked out a free man after the jury said not guilty. America has lost all respect from me. I wont salute the flag anymore or show it any respect at all since its shown that all it wants to do is lock up innocent yidden.
June 24, 2010 5:19 pm at 5:19 pm #1114229jewish girlMembernot everything can be blamed so much on anti semitism its so easy for us to blame it on anti semitism im not saying it wasnt but she was a tough judge and maybe a little bit of anti semitism.
just my opinion…
June 24, 2010 8:01 pm at 8:01 pm #1114230Yanky55Participantmosherose-
you are obviously not aware of all the facts of the case. Who told you he was found not guilty on ALL the charges?
July 1, 2010 12:28 am at 12:28 am #1114231mosheroseMemberThe news story said he was found not guilty.
July 1, 2010 3:09 am at 3:09 am #1114232R.L.MemberOK…. so I’m a hypocrite….after telling everyone that it’s funny when they respond to MosheRose’s nonsense I’m going to do just that.
Shalom Rubashkin was found not guilty on the charges of hiring underage/illigal(??) workers, he was convicted on the charges of bank fraud.
July 1, 2010 3:38 am at 3:38 am #1114233aries2756ParticipantSMR was found not guilty in the State case regarding child labor violations. That was not guilty on ALL counts in that trial. The anti-semitsm came into play when the Judge refused bail due to the fact that HE is JEWISH and can go to Israel. THIS is totally anti-semetic and can be used against any JEW. What the heck, an Arab can’t go back to Jordan? A Black can’t go back to Haiti?
Aside from that Judge Linda Reade is just plain a Rasha and treated SMR so inappropriately because she had a horse in the race. She signed the papers that put the raid in motion and therefore sided with the prosecution from the beginning. In addition, she ALWAYS sides with the government so it has nothing to do with serving justice. This is her habit and she should be fired!
July 1, 2010 7:46 pm at 7:46 pm #1114234Mashiach AgentMemberRubashkin told Rabbi Lipschitz from the Yated Ne’eman a few months ago. maybe i am in prison because klal yisroel has not gotten together as one. maybe i am hashem’s messenger to get all the jews together as one. cause thats what we need for mashiach to come. this is the case worldwide & now with Emannual in Israel & everyone going together to stand up for torah (a big kiddush hashem) now maybe mashiach can come.
July 6, 2010 4:44 am at 4:44 am #1114235LashonTovMemberIs Shalom Rubashkin’s plight similar to that of Yair ben Menashe because executives’ actions of a particular “frum” organization are similar to that of Achan ben Carmi? According to Rabbi Nechemia, in Perek 7 of Sefer Yehoshua we learn that one man suffered death, Yair ben Menashe, because of Achan’s greed. Why should Yair have died and in turn caused grieving to the entire Klal Yisroel because of another man’s totally unrelated greed? We as a Klal grieve for the injustice being done to Shalom Rubashkin. Is there a lesson to be learned here?
December 1, 2015 11:38 pm at 11:38 pm #1114237Mashiach AgentMembernow that Johnathan Pollard has been freed B”H what will klal yisroel as a nation do to help our teire yid Rubashkin get released from his sonei yisroel judge from PETA?
