    Hi all,
Many years ago I saw a pamphlet in Lakewood about shalom bayis, written in Aramaic (the author stated that it was in Aramaic so women wouldn’t be able to read it.)

Does anyone know the name of the pamphlet and if it is available online?

    Thanks

By the way ,are women chayav in shnayim Mikra?
Does zeman grama exempt women from a mitzvah derabanan?

A lot of proofs but let’s hear what you have to say please.

Benephraim, Tosfas Brachos (20,2) on the top of the page applies the savoro for a mitzva derabonon like halel.

The Tosfas is paskened in SA O’CH 106,1 that women are only responsible for tefila derabonon because it is not considered time dependent as praying for mercy applies any time.

Shnayim mikra might be because of learning Torah which women are exempt from.

Are you saying that women are patur from hilchos hachag bechag because it is zeman grama? As it says vayedaber Moshe etc. And also are you saying 30 days before Pesach women are patur,? Let me finish with Bedikas chametz. Is that zman grama ? Expect some nice bekiyus and charifus?

    Dear Ben,

Thirty days before is not an obligation on individuals. Bedikas Chometz comes about from a prohibition that includes women.

Peoples – why did you hijack my thread with totally unrelated topics?

    Dear No.

Are you assuming Bedikas Chametz is derabanan or min Hatorah.? Is linkage to a prohibition a valid mechayev on women for mitzvos min Hatorah, derabanan, both,or neither? Thanks for responding. A Good and Gebentched year.

Manhattanite: First of all, increasing numbers of women today ARE learning talmud so will have the same fluency in Aramaic as their husbands (and perhaps better in some cases). Secondly, for those that don’t, Google Translate can do an adequate job of interpretation.
P.S. What kind of jerk wouldn’t want yidden to share information on Shalom Bayis with their wives or beschert?? Is that some special thing in Lakewood??

I thought it was only angels who do not understand Aramaic

    Dear Ben,

    1) I assume bedikas chometz is rabbinical.
    2) Yes, it obligates them just like men. Most of kashrus would fall into these categories.

Jude, Gavriel thought Yosef all 70 languges, so they learn pshat that they understand but einom nizkokim, they don’t want to do anything with it.

    Should be above 70 languages.

    That made me laugh. Thanks.

First of all, increasing numbers of women today ARE learning talmud…

He said it was “many years ago.” Even today, I doubt
those women are marrying BMG kollel men.

Secondly, for those that don’t, Google Translate…

Google Translate (unsurprisingly) does not feature Aramaic.

P.S. What kind of jerk wouldn’t want yidden to share information on Shalom
Bayis with their wives or beschert?? Is that some special thing in Lakewood??

This might be related to the idea I’ve seen expressed by Rabbi Akiva Tatz
that if both parties in an arrangement focus on their obligations to the other,
it will work out well for them, but if they focus on the other’s obligations to
    them, there will be strife.
(Rabbi Shalom Arush has separate books on the topic for men and women,
with requests for each not to read the one not intended for them.)

Should be above Gavriel taught 70 languages to Yosef.
