Don’t know unfortunately. But while there I highily recommend going to the Pshevorsker beis medrash, absolutely one of the most amazing places there.

There is the Park Lane Hotel where I think Kosher breakfast is served.

The there are rooms to rent in a Jewish House. When you get there ask around….

@zahavasdad – Ask me for tips regarding The Netherlands. Even though I’m not from Amsterdam, I do know the city quite well.

Ill have to admit, I find Europe incredibly cool. I like Historical stuff

England and Italy were super cool, While lots of cool stuff to see in Paris, I got pick pocketed there so I refuse to return and the Seine was disgusting.

My main concern about Amsterdam is the “Pharmecuticals” and the “Light District”. I dont particually want to see that.

There are no Jewish hotels, but some hotels serve kosher breakfast.

You can rent a duplex apartment with kosher kitchen, up to 15 beds, call 323-2184283

Other apartments are 323-2897920 or 323-2306274

Right, with Amsterdam it’s very important to know where you go. Basically look at it like this. Anybody visiting Amsterdam will, usually, start of at the Central Station. (There are something like 10-15 trains per hour between the airport and the Central Station, and be aware – taxis are EXTREMELY expensive in The Netherlands! So almost everyone goes by train.)

From the Central Station, you look towards the south-east. Right in the middle in front of you is the Damrak, the long, major street towards Dam square (after that Damrak turns into Rokin). Basically, you can follow the Damrak, and go anywhere to the right – but better avoid anything to the left (ie, northeast) of the Damrak / Dam / Rokin line. It’s pretty easy to see what I mean on Google Maps. The ‘safe’ line goes around in a circle towards Waterlooplein (metro station) and the Rembrandt House Museum which you easily see on Google Maps. Basically, avoid everything within that area.

There are plenty of amazing places such as the markets (Waterlooplein, Albert Cuypstraat), the canals (just walking along the canals is really nice, especially in the evening), and just the general feeling of a (relatively) huge, very busy European classical city. It’s totally different from NYC, I think – not that I’ve ever been there. Amsterdam has a lot less cars in the city center, I suppose. The streets are much smaller. But the mix of all kinds of people (both inhabitants and tourists) generally living together in peace is amazing. And just the sounds of the city – even though I never lived in Amsterdam myself, I always particularly enjoy hearing the sound of the trams. It’s a happy sort of sound. Taking trams to tour the city can be nice also, for example Tram 5 which goes from the Central Station via the city center towards the Jewish area (Buitenveldert and the suburb of Amstelveen) is very nice.

    Anyway, I’m off…

When in A’dam you can stay by the “Doria Hotel”, just off from the Dam. It is not so expensive, and you can get Kosher Breakfast there.

When I was there, it was a last minute booking, and I was told, that due to last minute booking, there wouldn’t be Kosher food until my 2nd morning there, but when I came down the 1st morning, they had come up, with Kosher food.

NIK is website of the Dutch Rabbinate. There is a Kashrus listing there, amongst other things.

Spanish & Portuguese Synagogue. Anne Frank Huis. Nightwatch @Rijks Museum. A boat on the canals.

Trip to Marken &/or Volendam, seeing people in old Dutch costume. Make sure to buy a pair of real size clogs. …. I did, and often wear them on Purim, and everyone loves them. Technically they could even be worn on Tisha b’Ov & Yom Kippur bearing in mind that Yom Kippurim is like Purim.

But google search A’dam tourist sites.

Take a day trip to Paris, less than 2 hours by train. You *must* buy / reserve in advance though.

The best place to visit in Antwerp is the Chulent Park. If you’ve been there over Shabbos you’ll know what I mean

Ask the owner who let you down to tell you a few people who would have a place for you to stay! He should give you a few numbers of ppl to call!

The best thing you can do is call the kehille in Antwerp. +3232335567. They might be able to help. About the duplex apartment which someone noted, call before you come because I heard they were having some problems. I think that is what ananas 12 is referring to. There are people that rent out apartments, you should ask someone to get you the phone numbers. You can also call some Jewish taxi drivers, they can take you around all over and plan your trips for you. They will tell you exactly what is the most interesting places to go. The dollar is getting stronger now, you will be getting more for your money. If you want the taxi numbers, post it and I will post a list.

Seek an apartment on Craigslist, or some website for short term rentals.

    @BreindyFeldman99: shtickyguy: chulent park???

It’s a park in the middle of the Frum neighborhood of Antwerp where lots of guys go after shabbos lunch to walk off the meal… hence the name! EVERYONE calls it the chulent park.

actually the Chulent Park is NOT in the middle of the frum neighbourhood.

Its located in the center of town where dafkeh less heimishe pple live.

Yes, the frum crowd have walks there and around the park on Shabbos, but its located far from the residential chulent!

Is Belgium the largest Chassidic community outside of the US and Canada?

It seems there is a large Chassidic community there, much larger than the rest of Europe
