I see there is baruch hasme so many sems these days. There are books, speeches, and articles all about seminaries. But so far- I have yet to come across a plain old list of all existing seminary or such type programs in Israel with contact info and stuff.
I B”H will be going to seminary next year, and it’s pretty much all depends on whether I happen to hear about a sem or not. Because if you don’t know about a sem, how can you go there? I know Hashem will send you to the right place, but it would make people’s search so much easier if they had a list.
So I’m trying to make one. Please list the seminary names you know, and if possible any contaact information along with a few words describing the sem. (ex. academic, yeshivish, small (20 girls), straight hashkafos, and chance for college credits) so people can see if it’s something they should look into.
Thanks everyone!!!!

I’m curious – you made aliyah. Are you going to an American sem program? If you do so, are you paying American prices?

Not at all like Americans that have to start sighning up now.
I have no idea what type of sem I want.
I know I won’t be paying for a flight 😉 I think we may be paying cheaper prices, but I’m not sure.
EVERY sem has their own prices and scholorships.

I can tell you this, from our experience. We had two girls go to midrasha, one in Yerushalayim, and one in Beit She’an. Each of those places had a midrasha program for Israelis and a program for Americans. In both places, the Americans paid at least double (in dollars) to what we paid as Israelis. (For example, if one place charged an Israeli ?10,000, the Americans paid $20,000). I verified this myself with my own eyes at the time.

No descriptions, but it’s a start… It’s distributed free to sems at the beginning of the year so ask around for one.

Most Anglo-Israelis (as in, girls who made aliyah from Anglo countries, speak English at home, live in RBS, that type) went to Chedvas or Ofakim. I’m sure there are others as well. I went to Michlalah and they apparently have some sort of program for Anglo Israelis, but I’m not sure how active it is. I know that a lot of American seminaries don’t like taking Israeli girls because the fact that they live in Israel disrupts the seminary experience that the rest of the girls are having. (Though I definitely know exceptions, so…)
