Hi, has anyone heard of the segula from R’ Yisroel Yaakov Fisher for turning around breech babies? It’s something to do with going to a spring near Mevasseret Tziyon and drinking from the water but does anyone have more details or has anyone ever used this segula and knows what to do?

March 15, 2012 9:14 pm at 9:14 pm #860631soliekMemberooooooooooooooooooorrrr…instead of tying a newt to your abdomen and dancing naked under a full moon with a sprig of parsley in your hand and a crown of sunflowers on your head…how about a c-section?

Next you’ll be telling me that the best segulah for clean hands is using soap and water.

March 15, 2012 9:48 pm at 9:48 pm #860634youngjewsMember2qwerty- my friend actually had that issue 2 months ago: one night he went to the dr and his wife was going to have a procedure the next day to turn the baby and he spoke to a Rav who told him to make sure all his seforim he owned were rigth side up, the next day when they got to the dr they didnt need the procedure, apparently this is a segulah that the Steipler Gaon mentioned
March 15, 2012 9:51 pm at 9:51 pm #860635soliekMemberzahavasdad: or that too, but it doesn’t always work
March 15, 2012 9:58 pm at 9:58 pm #860636hello99ParticipantDayan Fisher sent people to Sataf. The husband should catch the water from the spring in his mouth and spit it into his wife’s mouth.
However, he also told people that it only works if you tell him in advance you are going so he can daven for you.
I suggest zahava’s solution. Did it last month and worked fine.
March 15, 2012 10:02 pm at 10:02 pm #860637MorahRachMemberWow I have never heard of that. That is an amazing segulah so interesting! I will pass it along to all my pregnant friends.

To think a segulah must work is missing some pretty basic Emunah that there is Someone running the world making decisions, and you can’t force Him to do anything. Just as Tefilah doesn’t always accomplish what you hoped it would, or any mitzvah you do for a specific zchus.

“the point is i dont want a c-section but thanks anyway!”
then the other advice of finding a doctor who can flip the fetus in utero is probably a good idea…unless you have and it didnt work in which case i wish you the best of luck and ill have you all in mind by refaenu
and yeah…im in a writing class…my teacher would be proud of that little depiction 😛

March 18, 2012 5:52 am at 5:52 am #860651NechomahParticipantAccording to the directory I could find, his name is R’ Aron. He has hours in the Beis HoRaah from 1:30 to 2:30 in the afternoon IST. The number that is listed is 052-761-1798. Drop the 0 if you’re calling from the US and add 972.
Hope this helps. B’shaah Tovah.
H99 – Ditto DY’s brocho for you. Mazel Tov
March 18, 2012 11:20 am at 11:20 am #860652chocandpatienceMembersoleik: There are many kochos in the world. We’ve lost much of that ancient knowledge, but it does exist. I’m sceptical about these kind of things because we have no way of knowing what is real and what is invented/imagined (99.9%?).
Dayan Fisher, though, was no minor personality. I was told that his segulos/remedies (he had many) had been passed down from many generations back.
BTW, ECV does have its risks.

Once upon a time, (not too long ago), us in the medical field didn’t care whether babies were born breech. Along came the “Sue -happy” laws and hardly anyone wants to deliver a breech anymore because there is almost no chance of getting sued doing a C-section as opposed to delivering breech. (We are own worst enemies because of our crazy laws. These laws change the way people practice medicine.)
But if you refuse to have a C-S, there are still practioners who know the procedure of how to deliver breech. G-luck finding one.
