It is sort of unappreciated that we all do the same count – chasidim, misnagdim, moderni teymani, Sephardi. Improvement comparing with the time of tzedukim
The Nodah Beyehudah was against saying the Shaim Yichud as it appears from the Ritva in Pesachim that the bracha is recited before the performance of the mitzva to indicate the kavona for it. Rebbi Shlomo Kluger ztz’l explains that when money was collected for the king, an announcement was made by saying, this money belongs to king in order it should not be stolen. Mitzvas can be taken away by the chitzonim, so we make an announcement that it belongs to the King, Hashem.
Some pointers: Every Wednesday night we complete a week as the day before start. The seven sefiras duplicate every eight day as the diagonal of a square, 1, 9, 17, 25, 33, 41 and 49. Shevuos falls on the 2nd day of Pesach as the start of sefira.
