OK, let’s start at the beginning. Who is the person “who knows his stuff?”
Note — I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you. You may, in fact, be right. But you can make your argument much more convincing by attaching a name to the statement. And since it was said publicly in a shiur, there shouldn’t be any problem with telling us who the person is.
