i am looking for unpublished, true stories of people who have been saved through the mitzvah of tzitzis or tefillin. Do you know of any?

During the 6 Day War, a young paratrooper was getting himself ready before jumping into the warzone.

In preparation, he removed his grenades from the storage box in his knapsack, clipped them to his belt and transferred his tallis / tefillin and siddur into the storage box, feeling they would be better protected than just loose on the knapsack.

During his firefight, he was suddenly thrown off his feet, and knew he had been hit by a sniper shot. For some reason, he felt no pain, so he kept fighting.

Later in the day, he checked his knapsack and saw that the bullet that had thrown him earlier, has penetrated his storage box (the siddur took the hit)

    you want them published here?

I know a person that had a big fire in part of their house, everything was ruined in one particular room besides for a tefilin bag with tefilin in it. He was so nispoel that he decided to find out more about tefilin and yiddishkeit and became frum.

After rereading your OP this might not be what youre looking for but a beautiful story IMHO nonetheless.

Arc, there is more than one way to be “saved.” I think the fire story was a great illustration of a neshama being saved.

I posted a story that happened to my family on another thread. We were saved by Tehillim and a siddur. To read the full story, click: http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/hashgocha-protis#post-86556

The story is the last post on the page.
