Who should Republicans gun for to become the opposition candidate that can best be beaten?
(i.e. Register as a Democrat to vote for the worst candidate in their primary; give financial donations to; attend rallies of the stronger candidate to make a ruckus in his name; etc.)

Because the mainstream realizes he’s crazy
February 16, 2020 9:56 pm at 9:56 pm #1832307☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI think voting for the weaker candidate is a dangerous strategy.
Not only would I be afraid perhaps somehow Bernie would win (although I agree he’s got a smaller chance than Bloomberg to beat Trump), I think the more exposure Bernie gets, the more his radical leftist views deep into the mainstream.
I’m not sure I mind Bloomberg so much, compared to the rest. Not that I like him, but he’s a whole lot more normal than Trump and not nearly as dangerous as some of the other Democrats.

February 17, 2020 9:00 am at 9:00 am #1832357Ed in MianiParticipantOrthodox Jews should especially be wary of Bloomberg. Remember, do not forget, that Bloomberg was the guy behind NYC’s attempt to ban Metzizah B’ Peh . He is profoundly anti-Chareidi.

Not more than Trump
February 17, 2020 1:49 pm at 1:49 pm #1832486akupermaParticipantBoth will give a green light to discrimination against Orthodox Jews. They will also incite “racial” anti-semitism, especially Sanders since in this case a Jew will be blamed for a massive economic collapse. Sanders is likely to do the “politically correct” thing and support Palestinian terrorist attacks directed against Jews anywhere in the world, whereas Bloomberg will actively oppose “racial” (“ethnic”) anti-semitism (meaning he will object if non-frum Jews are killed, even by terrorists).
The best solution for our community is for Trump to win by a landslide. Trump may be”bad” in many ways, be he is not anti-Jewish, and his overall policy of support religion will work in our favor.

February 23, 2020 4:16 pm at 4:16 pm #1834638JosephParticipantI suggest we all vote Sanders in the Democrat primary in order to help the Trump re-election effort.
