Seriously, can anybody give a link to a nice voter’s guide for NYC that includes all the smaller races, who the candidates are, and what they hold?
November 4, 2008 4:47 pm at 4:47 pm #623686shazamParticipantI voted weeks ago, by absentee ballot.
November 4, 2008 4:49 pm at 4:49 pm #623687yaakov doeParticipantLater, for Bob Barr for president.
November 4, 2008 4:50 pm at 4:50 pm #623688lgbgMemberNo, does anyone know a way I can do it online?
November 4, 2008 4:58 pm at 4:58 pm #623689Pashuteh YidMemberFound the following guide online which does not seem to be totally complete, but claims to be non-partisan. SmartVoter.Org
November 4, 2008 5:06 pm at 5:06 pm #623690krunchParticipantJoe Shcmo-
It sounds like you’re an ACORN voter!
November 4, 2008 5:16 pm at 5:16 pm #623691lgbgMemberThanks pashute yid, but are you sure you can vote on that site?
November 4, 2008 5:30 pm at 5:30 pm #623692jewishfeminist02MemberI also voted a while ago by absentee ballot.
November 4, 2008 5:31 pm at 5:31 pm #623693Pashuteh YidMemberLgbg, you can’t vote, it is just a guide to whose running and the issues. You need to look up your info at one of the official NJ Board of election sites (you are in Lkwd, right?). For NY there is a nice site which you can use to see if your voter registration is current, and where to vote and your various districts. If you are not currently registered, I don’t think there is anything you can do to vote today.
November 4, 2008 5:42 pm at 5:42 pm #623694lgbgMemberPashute yid,
Thats my problem, I tried registering once, but i dont know if it worked or not. Oh well, let the best man win!

November 4, 2008 5:51 pm at 5:51 pm #623696mosheyitzchokMembervoted!!!!!!!!!!!!!! absentee from israel
November 4, 2008 6:13 pm at 6:13 pm #623697Jersey JewParticipantI voted for McCain!! I will NEVER vote for a socialist like Obama. I believe in keeping the minimal money I earn. I don’t want to pay more I taxes.
November 4, 2008 6:13 pm at 6:13 pm #623698Pashuteh YidMemberLgbg, I would either search for the NJ site to verify registration, or else call up your election office, or else just go down and see if they have you on the list. As far as on-line voting, I think for now the country does not think it is secure enough and sufficiently tamper proof, so they have not instituted it.
JFem, I never knew that they allowed feminists to vote. When did this happen?
To all: There are now strict rules that all men must wear black and white, and all women must wear a sheitel or snood at the polling places. You will also be tested on 10 daf gemara. Anybody not dressed properly will be immediately sent home. No exceptions. This is the law.
November 4, 2008 6:27 pm at 6:27 pm #623700lgbgMemberpashute yid,
I’ll do just that, thank you very much for your help.
November 4, 2008 7:09 pm at 7:09 pm #623701anon for thisParticipantlgbg, if you are registered to vote, you should have received a sample ballot in the mail within the past week or so.
Pashuteh Yid, not only do they let feminists vote, they even let women vote.
November 4, 2008 7:13 pm at 7:13 pm #623702jewishfeminist02MemberVery funny. (Note that I voted for the candidate with the male running mate. I voted for him back in the primaries when Hillary Clinton was still in the running, too- so don’t think that I base my voting decisions on feminism.)
November 4, 2008 7:30 pm at 7:30 pm #623703lgbgMemberanon for this
didn’t get one as far as i know. so i guess i aint registered
November 4, 2008 9:24 pm at 9:24 pm #623704AlexParticipantI voted for McCain. I’m in Passaic, so I voted for Dr. Alex Blanco for Mayor.
November 4, 2008 9:46 pm at 9:46 pm #623705AnonymousInactiveI voted.
YW Editor, I would take over, but I don’t have to ability to come over now.
(And besides two times in one week would be asking to much. 🙂 )
November 4, 2008 10:04 pm at 10:04 pm #623706HaQerMemberI voted for McCain. Was in and out in five minutes, no waiting.
lgbg, I didn’t get anything in the mail either but when I went to the polling place my name was on the list. You should probably call up to find out which polling place though. If you are not registered you can vote a provisional ballot and submit a complaint that you had registered and it didn’t work. The people at the polling palce should be able to tel you how to do this.

November 4, 2008 11:06 pm at 11:06 pm #623708Pashuteh YidMemberIllini, would you also vote for an Arab MK in Israel, if he promised he would be good friends to the Jews? Would you want him knowing all Israel’s nuke and military secrets?
November 4, 2008 11:19 pm at 11:19 pm #623709illini07MemberPashuteh, that’s a pretty lame analogy and I hope that you know it. He isn’t Arab, he isn’t Muslim, and he isn’t a terrorist. Give it up, move on.

Even if he convert’s to Islam and joins al Qaeda, he’ll still never be an ARAB. He can’t be, considering his genealogy.

November 5, 2008 12:11 am at 12:11 am #623714AnonymousInactiveGMAB – There are actually Numerous YW Moderators around the world world working for hours a day trying to make YW the best Frum site in the market!
November 5, 2008 12:13 am at 12:13 am #623715Give Me a BreakMemberYW Moderator:
For frum news, it pretty much is.
November 5, 2008 12:20 am at 12:20 am #623716Bentzy18ParticipantWell it’s a done deal. I made my voice be heard but sad that it won’t have an impact on the election. NY is a well known democratic state and that is where the electorial votes will be going ( but one can only hope….lol) Still this is a democtracy and I’m glad that I’m able to make an histadlus. The rest is left for Tefilah and as always Hashem’s hands.
November 5, 2008 3:02 am at 3:02 am #623717havesomeseichelMemberBentzy18, it is a sad fact that the election only matters for a few states… Not NY (but you can hope with all the frum people), CA, NH, VT, MA, ME…Always democrats….
IT is the democrat party…no matter what you say. they are not more democratic then the republicans…
Democrats are not democratic!
