Respect For One’s Stepparent?

I believe the book “The Fifth Commandment” deals with the issue, and comes out that one does have to respect their step-parent. As a matter of fact, I believe it’s for that exact reason- out of respect for the parent. The trouble comes up in certain other instances, though, for example if there’s a falling out, or if the other parent says something against the stepparent.
