the 45 min speech the rav of leiby zatzel’s shul gave yesterday was unreal
he made 15 thousand people cry at once while comforting the family and telling us what we can do better
is there anyway they can translate the speech and post it?

July 15, 2011 7:41 pm at 7:41 pm #789648cantoresqMemberIt’s a very powerful and moving eulogy and statement of real religious belief. I especially liked his call for increased internecine unity. At a time like this, such messages are very powerful.

I felt as if i was staring at a malach. does anybody know how (from lakewood) i can access shiurim (not in yiddish) from him ?
July 21, 2011 2:37 pm at 2:37 pm #789657me tooMemberRav Eisenberger is a Talmid of Rav Kopelman Z”tzl. After 4 years in Luzern he went to Mir Yerushlaim. Call his BH”M”s tape librarian at 917 885 1953 for info.
I am a neighbor & occasional dropper in to his shiurim. The rav-talmid relationship there is phenomenal. It is hard to describe, big brother is the closest I can come.

July 25, 2011 6:08 pm at 6:08 pm #789666yenta.morphMemberR’ Binyomin is a prime specimen of what R’ Shraga Feivel wanted to produce,(the temimus of the Hungarian Jew, the fire of a Chasid and the Lomdus of a Litvak if I remember correctly) An amalgam of everything beautiful in a Ben Torah.
On his father’s side he is a descendant of the last pre-Churaban Rav of Debrecen,Hungary Rav Shlomo Zvi Strasser Z”tzl a descendant of the ??? ????
(Rav Moshe Stern Z'Tzl was a grandson-in-law of Rav Strasser and served as a Dayan and was elected as rav after the Churban)
His mother is a daughter of R’ Yitchok Donath A”H (Twice Buried, Still alive)As a child he grew up in Chsan Sofer. He learned in Luzern Switzerland under Rav Kopelman Z”tzl, and then in Mir YerushlaimJuly 25, 2011 6:17 pm at 6:17 pm #789667Aishes ChayilParticipantPac Man,
No- not where he learned. where his parents were born, or where he gets his yiddish from.
