Are ppl more likely to read a thread if its posted under controversial. Ie. There are topics that can fall under a variety of categories.
I posit that its more likely to be read if its listed as controversiali don’t care about the category, the title will normally grab my attention.
Poorly worded titles kill threads.
New topics are infrequent enough that they all end up on the front page anyway. I never check the specific topics.
