never heard you’re not supposed to. “amen” isn’t considered a hefsek is it?

kapusta: I am pretty sure you say amen.

you could answer amen to someone elses Brocha provided that you didn’t make HaMotzi first. Meaning as long as didn’t say HaMotzi you can answer amen. Once you make HaMotzi you have to eat before saying amen.

AOB, that’s a very difficult question to answer. It sounds like you are facing this challenge in some aspect of your life. I don’t think anyone here can answer that. Daven that Hashem give you the strength to withstand the challenge. Good Luck!

relax, i’m not really struggling with an actual reality of this right now, b”h. but it came up & from how the conversation went it seemed like most people were of opposing opinion to me. & i wasn’t comfortable even bringing up my perspective with people i know, so i was asking here.

really, you can’t imagine yourself in a situation & consider what you would do? (you don’t have to be 100% sure to answer.)

an open book: a grandparent of mine had Alzheimers and it was extremly painful to watch if that’s what you mean, but you said mentally regress, so not sure if we’re talkin about the same thing!!!

random question triggered by JayMatt’s DT:

why is ma nishtana all the way in the beginning of the seder? technically the kid is asking about why everything is different before he even sees the differences? he didn’t yet eat matzah or maror, and only dipped once so far.

don’t tell me because he saw his mother preparing and knows what’s gonna be (that’s my dad’s kind of answer) because he also learned the answers in school.

    #1079864

yeah but he made kiddush and he saw matzah being broken, washed without a bracha, and ate a veggie dipped in saltwater 🙂

    you’re gonna get all detailed?

“shebechol halailos anu ochlim chomeitz oh matzah vehalaila hazeh KULO matzah” – technically he has no idea there’s no bread coming out in ten minutes.

didn’t see maror yet. none of the questions are about washing or kiddush. and he only dipped once.

    #1079866

moish- i didnt read jaymatts dt, but i think the chinuch roundtable in the yated this week was about that
