What is the whole deal with rainbows? I’ve heard many different opinions including you are not supposed to tell someone that there is a rainbow, you can tell someone there is a rainbow. I’ve also heard that rainbows nowadays aren’t the rainbows that Hashem was talking about by the mabul.
Anyone ever heard these things? And do you really make a bracha on a rainbow if it isn’t what Hashem was talking about by the mabul? Yes, I know. I will ask my lor as well but just am curious to know what others opinion are.
I make a bracha when I see a rainbow. The reason some say not to tell people when you see it, is that the rainbow traditionally is a reminder that we deserve to be compeltely destroyed, but Hashem is holding back, because of the promise/covenant he made to Noach.

The reason u r not supposed to talk about rainbows is because it is the symbol of the toevaniks.
