Last week, there was a post that suggested a shiur from Rabbi Rubenstein, which I listened to (and it was great!)
Its off the “freshness” page, so can this be revived? WIY, I think it was you who posted it, but am not certain

Yes I posted it. Thank you for letting me know and giving me the Nachas that you enjoyed. People don’t realize I don’t just post “Ahbi.” He is a phenomenal speaker. All his shiurim are “must listen to” at least that’s how I feel.
I will revive that thread.
November 15, 2010 6:15 pm at 6:15 pm #709925bptParticipantThanks for doing so. I especially liked the oneg / nega vort, the severity of despair vort / and how change is gradual, but continuous, like the hands on a watch.
(his accent was an added bonus!)
November 15, 2010 6:20 pm at 6:20 pm #709926theprof1ParticipantMost shiurim of any kind, by men or women, are worth lsitening to. The “must listen” depends on each indivudual. Instead of making a thread that extols one speaker, let’s suggest speakers. If someone wants to listen fine. Every person will connect to the speaker that hits their “nail on the head”.

True all Torah is worth listening to. But there are good speakers and better speakers there’s no denying that.
Rabbi YY is up there.

Yes the Nega Oneg vort is amazing it really hit the message home for me as well.
He has a number of shiurim available through his page on Torahanytime.com. Check our Rabbi Rietti as well if you like English accents lol. He is also a great speaker.
November 16, 2010 2:15 am at 2:15 am #709929ImaofthreeParticipantHe really is an excellent speaker and I enjoy all his books. I think he just came out with a new one, On the Derech.

I know, I have it and am about 1/2 way through. Great book!
November 16, 2010 2:18 pm at 2:18 pm #709931Rak Od Pa'amMemberInteresting that Rabbi Rietti should be in a thread on Rabbi Rubinstein:
We had the pleasure of hosting Rabbi Rubinstein for several nights.
He told us that he & Rabbi Rietti were learning in Gateshead at the same time. There was a rumor circulating that Yonasson R. can cry at will. So a bachur approached him & asked if it was so. Immediately the tears started. The inquiring bachur concerned that he hurt Yonasson started apologising. Says Yonasson “I am doing it”

Yes Rabbi YY mentioned that story in a few of his shiurim, he and Rabbi Rietti are very close friends.
They are both incredible people and incredible speakers.

Ershtins, it didnt take long to make the comment, Im not in control of how fast my comments get posted, some vague “they” also known as “mods” are in charge of that. 🙂
As for alcohol, I used to be into teh whole single malt thing but I stopped drinking for diet reasons and it kind of stuck. Dont get me wrong from time to time if theres a good single malt at a Kiddush Ill have a taste but im just not into it anymore.
November 17, 2010 10:06 pm at 10:06 pm #709942bptParticipantGood thing, WIY. (Besides, bourbon is more affordable)
