There’s currently a video from JCN showing the Klatzkin yesomim tearing kriah at their father’s levayah. It looks like there are other people (presumably members of the chevra kadisha or the funeral parlor) who are tearing it for them. But the halacha is that for a parent one must tear it themselves. Am I seeing things wrong?
Didn’t see the vid, but maybe they’re starting the cut to make it easier to tear?
The video I saw seems to show someone making the initial tear with a knife or razor blade, and the avel making the brocha and tearing the tefach over his heart, the way it is normally done.
