    In a way…

Chazal said “Kol haposhit yad nosnim lo”, on Purim, anyone who puts out his hand, we give him. Meaning, Purim we give to anyone who requests without asking (too many questions)

Chazal also say that the same is true with Hashem. All year we ask for things and Hashem checks if we are deserving or not. But on Purim, kol haposhet yad, anyone who asks – nosnim lo, Hashem grants his request!

Now, this is a very risky option. If everyone would ask for all there needs on Purim, Hashem will “have to” give it to them. So, we were given the Mitzvah of “Ad delo yado”, to drink on Purim! This way. everyone will be so busy and dizzy they will forget to ask!!

Now, what about Purim Kattan? Seforim bring down that on Purim Kattan, if you ask from Hashem, nosnim lo! And there is no din of drinking on Purim Kttan (sorry! well, maybe a revis but NOT a pus’ka!!!) so we have the chance to ask from Hashem and He will give it!

So don’t waste this Friday! Say Tehillim, daven with more kavanah and ask Hashem for all your needs and Klal Yisroel’s needs and Hashem’s needs-to take the Shechina out of galus and bring Moshiach!!!!

(I had a thought of my own: many times Purim Kattan falls out on Friday, Erev Shabbos. Maybe Hashem did that so we should be too busy preparing for Shabbos and forget the importance of this day…)

Many all our Teffilos be answered.

twisted, I was using my own phrase to bring out a point. Hashem can give everything, He is unlimited and can dispense Brochos with no end.

However, Hashem doesn’t a;ways “want” to pour riches and a lot of good on people for many different reasons. Some for a test, some for punishment in this world and 100,000,000 other reasons He has.

But He also gave us Purim and Kol haposet yad, so Hashhem made a distraction so that we miss the opportunity.

This is my understanding of what I was taught and from Sheorim I heard.

(Please note, I have not slept in 36 hours [or maybe more…] so if something doesn’t look 100%, you can blamme it on that…)

Who needs kol hapoishet yad once a year when I can buy yeshuois any day of the week?

I just read the following today:

“THERE IS A MISHNA IN MEGILLAH THAT SAYS “EIN BAIN ADAR RISHON L’ADAR SHENIE ELE KRIAS MEGILLAH UMATONAS LEVYONIM BILVAD”; THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE FIRST ADAR AND THE SECOND ADAR ONLY THAT YOU CAN NOT DO YOUR OBLIGATION OF READING MEGILLAH AND PRESENTS FOR THE POOR.

THE POWER OF PRAYER REMAINS EXACTLY THE SAME; HOWEVER, BY THE FIRST ADAR THE RABBIS DID NOT MAKE AN OBLIGATION TO DRINK.”

So just as the koach hatefilah is so great on Purim, likewise, it has the same koach on Purim Katan.

Squeak, Purim is when you get the money to pay for the yeshuois you buy the rest of the year.

Sam, I am not as big of a Talmid Chacham as you, but I heard the Mordechai says the Kol haposhet yad goes on Hashem as well. I also saw it in the Nesivas Shalom (Slonim)

just popping in to give my 2 cents

i dont know about you sidi, but i think ad dlo yada is during the seudah specifically, which happens after shachris and mincha, therefore you have all three tefillos before you get drunk. additionally to address oomis (and you along too sidi) matanos l’evyonim is where we learn kol haposhet yad nosnin lo, therefore if it doesnt apply in adar rishon it doesnt apply for our tefillos too

sorry for being a wet blanket

SiDi: The hashkafic problem is not the idea that Hashem’s brachos will be used up ch’v (though that is assur to believe as well.) The problem with the vort you posted is that it implies that we human beings can “force” Hashem to give us something by asking at a particular time and a particular way. He can say “no” on Purim, at neilah, or — dare I say it — after 40 days at someone’s grave as well.

ItcheSrulik, what about Moshe Rabbenu? If he would have asked one more time, Hashem would have “had to” allow him into Eretz Yisroel. This is the power of Tefilla! By davening we can, in a way, make Hashem do something that He “doesn’t want to.”

This I found from Rabbi Shalom Arush:

Now that this thread is almost at the bottom of the page… Something always bothers me (for lack of a better term) with mention of a specific Eis Ratzon. Between everything, sometimes the other Eis Ratzon of sitting on your couch on any random day with something on your mind seems to take a back seat. Its not a matter of getting it in to meet a deadline– there is no deadline.

(And on a related note, sometimes the best davening is saying one line that you want to daven but cant). Just an opinion…

    Thanks for posting SIDI

many times Purim Kattan falls out on Friday, Purim Kotton can only be on a Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday.

It occurs 7/19 of years, Friday indeed being most frequent day, Sunday being ever so marginally more often than on Tuesday, and on a Wednesday exceedingly rarely [approximately 4 time a century].
