Will there be protestors at the Siyum Hashas like there was at citifield the news media gave the protestors alot of attention.
Who was protesting citified I don’t remember seeing them? was it Neturei Karta or just modern people who don’t want to listen to the gedolei hador and want to do what they please and use internet without a filter. Maybe Neturei Karta will be protesting at the siyum hashas because it is the Aguda.
Do you think I have Ruach HaKodesh?!
RebRY: Actually it was neither. Some of the Asifa protesters were probably well-intentioned and have nothing against the Gedolim and Halachah (though I think many did), but it was definitely the wrong time and place for it (from what I have heard about it, at least).
So I googled it and found that there were people who protested against it because they thought it would have been better to have an asifa against child abuse. I heard people claim that and I answered them that I hear where they are coming from and that it is also a problem but there are more people using internet then abusing children and there are so many problems in klal yisruel that the gedolim need to address and will get to that eventually.
There were 2 groups of people protesting the Asifa, One group was dressed as cavemen
The other group was protesting abuse saying the money for the asifa could have been used to fight abuse
There isnt any protest of the Siyum that I know of
I am protesting. I am very against people who learn daf yomi. Who ever said to cap your day’s learning at one daf? Meheicha blazing teisi?
The asifa protesters were just a handful of apikorsum, most of them publicly frei, who were not even noticed by 99.999% of the oilem at the asifa.
I did not know about the pro-computer protesters. Those were foolish and were pointlessly openly fighting people much wiser and more learned than they. Those who protested for the other reason definitely had room to complain, though whether or not it was the proper time is definitely a claim that can be made against them. (Ohr Chodesh is correct that even many of those protesters were not Frum and were not protesting for the right reasons (as I said above), but there were definitely those there who had some room to claim that they had a valid complaint and that they were doing it L’sheim Shamayim and to help K’lal Yisrael.)
