In this thread, I will provide free trolling lessons, as I offered JasonX. Simply post your troll posts here, and I will offer constructive criticism on how you could improve them.
Please do not read this thread otherwise, since we would like the finished products to be posted on the CR in their own threads.

Too late…
Thank you DY for contributing the first submission.
First I will talk about the positives. When your troll post is a response, it is very beneficial if you are the first response on the thread, since you can then set the route the discussion will take. A good example of this can be found here: http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/here-we-go-again-1
Also, I like how you very gently take all the air out of your target’s sails, by just simply and bluntly stating that her object is unattainable.
So all in all, I’d say this is an excellent first attempt; you should be proud of yourself.
Now let’s discuss how to make it even better than it already is.
It isn’t immediately clear what you mean when you say it is “too late.” Perhaps you mean that it is too late for anyone to post any troll posts for them to be critiqued, but you don’t explain why that would be so.
So, this is a good path, and I’d like you to keep on the same idea. See how you can make it clearer what you mean. I look forward to reviewing your edits.

March 15, 2013 10:23 pm at 10:23 pm #942861popa_bar_abbaParticipantYou stole my line
Again, first the positives.
Like DY’s, this has the benefit of being short and concise. I don’t mean to imply that short concise posts are better, since it is only one style and sometimes an idea really calls for a long intricate post. But, in the beginning of a thread a short concise one is often really good.
However, this style is really very hard to pull off, since it is tricky to make it also clear enough that people will understand it. Simply posting “you stole my line” will usually leave people scratching their head.
Keep at it! I know you can!

Ah, this is much better. In this post, you are pretending to not be a troll–but you are cleverly masking it in a compliment, which takes down the target’s guard and they bite the bait.
Well done. Take this one to the big leagues.

That makes no sense. Either posting is boring or not, but it should not depend on whether one is getting paid for it.

March 31, 2013 8:51 am at 8:51 am #942874moi aussiMemberI never said that posting is boring, I also didn’t say that the poster is boring, I said that the poster is bored if he posts and posts and posts, however if the poster is paid for posting then it doesn’t reflect boredom per se, it reflects the need for parnassa.
Does this make sense to you Popa?

I knew exactly what you meant the first time. You came here to get assuage your low self esteem by making fun of me, and instead of being insulted, I twisted your post into a pretzel and had fun with it. Which also sort of gave you an out, so you could pretend you were also making jokes.
But you still want to be mean. So consider this the response you were waiting for: You are being mean, and I don’t particularly care what some anonymous person I’ve never met thinks of me either way.

Saying that you’re bored does not reflect meanness on my part, it’s merely an observation. If you concluded that I’m mean, it’s an indication that you don’t love yourself unconditionally (bored people lack self-esteem).
Of course you care what an anonymous blogger thinks, why else would you have responded the way you did?

There’s never a need to purposefully “shtech”, so many aveiros can be committed with the stroke of a few keys (onaas devarim, lashon hara, rechilus, motzie shem ra, halbanas panim, nekamah, netirah, choshed b’ksheirim, lo sisnah, machlokes, megaleh sod, to name a few). April 5, 2013 12:07 am at 12:07 am #942889squeakParticipantAt the seder I attended, there were lots of kids and not nearly as many adults. So we only let one of them say mahnishtanna because we didn’t want to sit through a thousand garbled yiddish translations.
To make it up to the others who were left out, we hid extra afikomans – enough for all the kids there to find at least one. There was only one matza to hide, but plenty of hard boiled eggs (we make them for shulchanaruch anyway). And to make sure none of the kids cheated by taking an egg out of the fridge and pretending it was a hidden one, we colored the eggs with food coloring before we hid them. Everyone who found one got a prize.
My neighbor liked the idea so much, he did the same thing in his backyard after Shabbos.

pba – The poster is less than an hour old.
Yes, but this is a personal question and a regular poster might want to separate it from her regular screen name.
Now, had the poster asked, “I’ve always wanted to marry a learning boy, and I am going out with someone who seems to be a baal midos, I hear he’s a big masmid, and he has a wonderful personality, but someone told me that when he was learning in E.Y. he didn’t ibber meiser and took a cigarette once a month. Should I marry him?”, I would say (s)he’s definitely a troll.
Ok, so first, I don’t know what ibber meiser means, so I don’t know if that should bother someone. I know an ibber yur is a pregnant year, so maybe ibber meiser is a pregnant meiser. But what is a meiser. I thought it might be tithe, but I would spell that maiser and also I don’t know what a pregnant tithe is. So maybe it is a miser, and the guy was not a pregnant miser. Which makes sense since it was a guy so how could be be pregnant. But at the same time, if he was really interested in having kids and a family, you would think he would figure it out anyway.
But that aside, I’ll discuss your post.
It appears your intention was to troll the OP by making fun of his/her troll thread, and saying that you could have trolled on the same topic more efficiently. This is a good mode of trolling, and I have used it successfully many times, including with this very thread.
In this particular case, it is tricky though. The actual OP’s troll actually did fool some of us. But, that is because it wasn’t actually very trolly; it was a good question. Your alternative trolling would have been legitimate trolling, so it was qualitatively better and your trolling point was therefore successful.
As to how successful, that depends on the quality of the alternative trolling you put forth. I think it was pretty good; I particularly liked the part about the pregnant miser.

Ok.
BY girl from Berkeley is good. 14 year old adds a nice touch because it makes it the more absurd–although, we probably have lots of 14 year olds worry about seminary, so it is absurd in a good social commentary way.
Aside: I would actually advise this girl to go to a seminary that doesn’t serve any food like the one hayaduah which all the girls who go there become fat.
The tacked on question about shidduchim is excellent.
Well done.

Why didn’t you just make nedarim and shevuos that you would have to hide eggs and the kids find them and get prizes, etc? Also, didn’t this disturb your goy who does the korbonos in the backyard?
