    Winnie the Pooh……….

    How do you define ‘politician?’

Some define it as anyone elected to public office.

I am elected to an unpaid local government office. I also am a member of my local Democratic Town Committee and have been a delegate to state and national Democratic conventions.

I like to believe I have good middos

Didn’t mean you of course, CT, don’t get insulted please. Your motives are purely to contribute your talents to your community.

It was meant tongue in cheek, the way people make lawyer jokes or mother in law jokes. I don’t think any lawyer or mother in law really believes those jokes are about them.

I once ran for class president. In my election campaign I kissed babies and shook hands with veterans. I also made promises that I could keep (longer recess, less homework, fairer teams for sports, Ect.) People loved me. I won in a landslide victory of 90% – 10%. I would like to think I had good middos.

Utah, were you able to keep those promises- the teachers actually gave less homework and longer recess?

    Winnie……

    I wasn’t insulted.

I have Teflon shoulders, nothing flung at me sticks.

I believe in the concept of the citizen legislator, not career politicians feeding at the public trough.

Here in CT our state legislators are part time and are paid only $28,000 per year. They depend on other jobs/professions to support themselves, not government.

I serve on my Town Council. Not only are we not paid, but we are not reimbursed for out of pocket expenses such as office supplies.

Last election cycle, I spent less than $100 my campaign. I stopped at or called more than 5000 households in my council district. ???? ???? works wonders…people toss campaign mailers directly in the trash.

“Well, I really like [Barack Obama]

“Yitzchak Cohen from Shas … is an honest and good person that cares about the state of Israel, who knows how to cross the aisle in the Knesset, and to say ‘Here’s a good idea, what do you say about this idea? Maybe we’ll do it together?’ Yitzchak Cohen has a good heart.” – Yair Lapid (Yesh Atid)

    “I respect [Donald Trump’s]

“Shelly [Yachimovich from Labor], I really appreciate you. You are always honest and matter-of-fact. I know that with you, it isn’t “??? ??? ???? ???”, but rather you say what you believe. I am very happy that there are people like you in Knesset.” – Ayelet Shaked (Bayit Yehudi)

“Isawwi Frej [from Meretz, is] an intelligent person, a good person, an honest person.” – Moshe Feiglin (Likud)

“I think [Paul Ryan] is a good person and a decent guy.” – Joseph Crowley (D-NY)

“Orli Levi, from Yisrael Beitenu, you are something else. A true social warrior, with so much caring. It’s really fun that you’re in Knesset.” – Shelly Yachimovich (Labor)
