Hi! I live in the Boro Park section of Brooklyn at 54th Street and 20th Ave. I woke up this morning to see that all my four tires were slashed with a knife. When I looked around I saw another three cars with slashed tires as well! I immediately called police to file this complaint! Chaverim was also called to plug the holes of my tires so I can drive to the tire shop! It costed me $600.00 of my very hard earned money to replace all my tires. The member of chaverim that helped me said this is happening very frequently in our Boro Park neighborhood. They had 50 calls in the last few weeks with the identical story.
The problem is that people aren’t reporting these incidents to the police department. If many complaints are filed the police can try to do something about this problem and start patrolling at night!
This past Chol Hamoed Succos there were three cars on 53rd Street bet. 19 & 20th Ave that found themselves in tire shops replacing slashed tires instead of going on their trip. I know these people and they didn’t bother reporting this to police! We need to bring this to the attention of politicians. Maybe they can do something about it!
P.S. I must compliment the Chaverim members. They showed up immediately with a $2000.00 air pressure machine. Very impressed!
I took photos of the entire incident with the police, Chaverim and all cars involved. (Click for photos http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=49546 )
Thanking you in advance for publicizing this important issue that has effected so many!
