    Looking for some healthy filling and easy to make lunch ideas. Don’t want to eat the same thing every day and I want to stop skipping lunch because I come home starving and end up eating too much by supper.

    Sliced turkey breast on whole wheat bread. Add whatever veggies you like (i.e. lettuce, tomatoes, pickles etc.).

    my suggestions are:

    1 toast

    2 pasta

    3 eggs

    4 cereal

    5 a cold beer

    I pack breakfast and lunch for my husband every day. A chobani greek yogurt, fruits (banana, oranges, apples) some type of granola bar or banana muffin (that I bake). A bag of cut up veggies. Sandwhich with tuna, or cheese, eggsalad, chummus, peanut butter and jelly. A bag of healthy kind of chips or popcorn.

    He loves it and thanks me. 🙂

    Eat two healthy meals a day, with a small snack and drink in the middle. So lunch is unnecessary.

    They can do the same for themselves, lightbrite:) But speaking from experience, it DOES taste better when a meal is prepared for you.

    Tips for bring your own lunch:

    1 – Unless one drives to work, the lighter and less bulky the better. Oh, and leak-proof bags are a must.

    2 – The more moist the sandwich contents, the soggier the bread is by lunchtime. Either use dense bread (pita), assemble the contents on the spot or avoid sloppy-joes altogether.

    3 – Co-workers (co-lunchers?) don’t appreciate overpowering odors. Avoid strong cheeses (Limburger, anyone?) and similarly “aromatic” salad dressings.

    4 – If it leaves a noticeable shirt/tie stain, leave it home (skip the left-over spaghetti and meatballs, spare ribs and shpritzy half grapefruit) or bring a bib (napkins? hazmat suit?).

    5 – Afternoon coffee & cream drinkers most likely avoid fleishig lunches as a rule.

    Does the person have access to any of the following:

    microwave?

    toaster oven?

    fridge?

    If yes this may broaden the types of foods that one can bring.

    Personally, I have a small salad (chopped lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers) with dressing. Place the dressing at the bottom of the container then the tomatoes/cucumbers and then the lettuce at the top. When ready to eat turn over the container and shake. This will keep the lettuce from wilting.

    The protein is generally leftovers from the previous day’s dinner.

    Spunk: It’s nice to know that some men can fend for themselves in a healthy way. Some guys won’t touch vegetables unless their wives hide them in their foods. Others consider potato chips vegetables.

    There was a president who thought that ketchup should be considered as vegetables for school lunches.

    I usually take leftovers from the night before.

    Protein and fiber are what’s filling.

    Think fish, whole whet pasta dishes, potatoes and eggs, chicken and potatoes, leftover burgers, etc.
