Tooth picks? Don’t change the subject! Besides, a better attack would have been to say, “Q-tips? Too dangerous! You should ONLY use a washcloth.

Q-tips is only dangerous if you put them in the ears, you can use it for arts & crafts projects. Now back on topic, tooth picks are…

Let me get this straight, Blinky. You stay on the sidelines of weeks on end, and now that we’ve finally got a good fight brewing, you’re gonna break it up?

The least you could have said is, “q-tips are ONLY for applying makeup.”

C’mon.. you love a good fight as much as the next person!

Now BPT do you beleive its appropriate for men to fight about makeup? we should realy be fighting about sports!!

Well its not that i get attracted by fights but i decide to pop in for a little bit and i see my peace making mode can be put to use

(i distinctly remember you once rewarded me as “Least controversal”) So i guess if a controversy comes up maybe i can set things straight!

And Q tips are great to remove smudged eyeliner!

“how you fitting a vash cloth in yourr ear”

My point exactly. Push the Q-tip in too deep, and you’ve got tzuris. Other than a washcloth, your elbow should be the only other thing you pu in your ear. (What’s that, you say? You can’t put your elbow in your ear? Really? How long have you had this condition.

And Ms. Blink – Don’t try and give us the “non-confrontational” smokescreen. When the topic calls for it (say, nail polish colors) I seem to remember you had quite a position.

As far as smudge removal, thats what sleeves are for, aren’t they?

I don’t recall saying those colors u sure it was me? I usually stick to neutral colors.

But i might use “controversal” colors for pedicures. (however often that is)

I’d comment, but that’s sure to get me booted out of this one too!

As for you, Ms Ado – With a name like that (and Z’keit as well) what else are we supposed to think?

To take it personally; till you’ve got the knocks us old-timers have gotten, we think of you as kids. Once you’re on the big swings (the ones without the safety harnesses) you’re part of the crowd, regardless of your age.

PE: I thought I made that clear. I realized that no other belief system makes any sense. Besides, I don’t really want to go into the nitty gritty of atheism on here.

    #774582

Observanteen – you’re right 😉 This is perhaps not the best place to go into atheism and other religions.. Did you have lots of questions? Did you find out the ans yourself? (Don’t ans whatever you not comfortable to!!)

It’s amazing how you can downplay a longer story to just a few words..

I think Observanteen was asking where (by virtue of the screen name) I would place the age.

The obvious answer is presumably somewhere between age 13-19. But the declaration of “shteiging” puts you in a whole different class!

it took mbachur like 5 years to change his screen name (he already has a kid i think) so it could take me that amount of time too…

PE:I did have lots of questions which basically stemmed from my anxiety (although I am a deep person who’s the type to question, my anxiety added fuel to the fire).

I got my answers from Rabbi Avigdor Miller z”l and from the books “Permission to Believe” and “Permission to Recieve” by Lawrence Kelemen.

Just wondering…Did you ever research Yiddishkeit or other religions? Did you ever question you beliefs? (You don’t have to answer if you don’t feel comfortable doing so.)

    Good Shabbos!

    Correct.

“But the declaration of “shteiging” puts you in a whole different class!”

I take that as a compliment. Was that intended?

You bet its a compliment! I am guessing that “shteiging” means you’re in yeshiva, right. And computer savvy to boot, right? Nu, doesn’t that give you an age advantage?

All you need now, is a wife, and you are one of the guys!

    #774588

Nope, sorrry. All I need is a Yeshiva boy and I’m one of the Kollel wives.

    #774589

observantteen – you asked questions in person? Or got answers through books? Thanks for responding!

Adorable – you also seemed to question..? Is that correct? Did you ever find satisfactory answers?

Would you say it’s a matter of time – and see where time leads you to?

Through books. Also, I am very fortunate to have a very open minded mother who had questions herself when she was my age, who answered most of my questions.

bpt: Never thought shteig is a boyish word. I mean, doesn’t the word mean “grow” (spiritually)? I think boys and girls can shteig in their midos, no?

princesseagle – it’s great to have questions – it means you’re a thinking person. and it’s even better to have the qyestions when you’re young, when you have time and energy to look for the answers, as the answers are definitely there! rabbi kaplan’s books are great! so are rabbi keleman’s and rabbi tatz’s. also, one can take basic hashkafa classes at neve yerushalayim and all the teachers there know how to answer questions.

    #774594

hey, thanks so much for responding! d’ya know if there is a way to take such classes over the phone / skype or something?

i think also if you read up, ask, etc you’re gonna have to change.. and sometimes you wanna just continue without making those changes

PE: I’ve made many difficult changes in my life. Believe me, they were TOUGH. But there’s nothing as freeing as this. You just feel…uplifted. Change is hard. But hard work makes you feel accomplished.

“.. and sometimes you wanna just continue without making those changes “

Do you WANT to change? Do you like your present life? Do you enjoy living? Is it worthwhile? Do you feel there’s a purpose, a goal in your life? At the end of the day, do you feel accomplished? Are you happy?

Besides, don’t take it as a commitment. Don’t think of it as if you research Yiddishkeit you’d have to do A B and C. These things come as you go along the path. You don’t change overnight. It’s a life struggle. The greatest of Rebbetzins have something to work on.

Hatzlacha Rabba in whichever choice you make.
