I am suggesting that the moderators put up an option for members to upload a photo beside their user name.
I personally am very visual oriented. I love reading the threads but I think more graphics to follow the conversation re: who said what would be useful. The large amount of written text and font requires koyach needed to use mental energy to follow all the reading which is sometimes overwhelming.
I think if we had a photo beside the username it would be easier to identify the author of the text without having to read.

I actually post on another forum which has the option of putting up pictures and hardly anyone puts it up.
Why would someone want to give away their identity? And why do you think people will post a legit picture of them self?
and the confidentiality of this site goes right down the drain… i personally don’t think that would work, and like coffee addict said- definitely pritzus (esp the pics of women/girls) definitely not right for a yeshiva world.
I see pictures next to the comments of some posters on the main site here of Yeshiva World. (Not the CR though.)
I don’t think it would be a good idea. As yummy cupcake said, confidentiality would be lowered, and also, I think people would start judging others based on their pictures, which would be a terrible thing. (Especially for me, since I’m Goth.) 😉
If there are no actual pictures, I think its a great idea.
@real-brisker Why would anyone put up a picture of themselves? I think the OP’s intent is to have personal avatars on the site just like most other forums do on the interwebs.
Not hard to find a picture of a 600 kilo bear (Ursus maritimus) online.

Maybe the mods should be the ones putting up the pictures kind like the subttiles so there are no ishues of tzenuyos or giving out the real ID.

ur over loading them with too much work I think. maybe there should be a picture mod who only does the pics.
They can choose if they want to do it just like the subtitles.

yeah its all good. too busy to make decisions. I seriously have a packed schedule every single night this month its not so normal
Well, a packed schedule is better than an empty schedule! I’m happy your’e keeping busy, but I’m sure decisions will still have to be made, so stay focused and everything will turn out great.

i think its a good idea to let the mods do it, but adorable’s right, i feel bad for them :(.
Also if there are pics, they should all be like cartoon [like on aol when u IM] .. i feel like they cant be bad if theyre small little cartoons 🙂

You can put a picture. Post it as a signature in BASE64.

I actually don’t need a literal picture next to the username to visual a user. my brain does it automatically.
For example, this is how I visualize Shopping613:
Laden with packages over each arm, running around Malcha Mall looking in all the little stands for an emerald sword for sale.
We shouldn’t have photos of here because there might be vampires and this is their one chance to be normal, but if there are photos people will notice they don’t show up on camera.
