With all the cheap phone carriers out there, which are the same as the Big name carriers since they actually use the same lines, does anyone still have contracts or pay 3 times as much for the same service by using the big name carriers?
I’ve heard that there is a slight reception/data prioritization that the big name gets over their subsidiaries. i know plenty of people and companies who are very loyal Verizon customers.
The “speed” of signal transmission across 4G and 5G networks and repeater stations at cell towers is identical for network owners and those wholesalers who lease capacity and resell under own brands. However, there are likely small but measurable speed differentials attributable to the server interfaces used to ID and validate those resale customers and record their information for billing purposes.
Avirah, yes im sure if you go with the big brands they have priority on the newest and fastest towers than their subcarriers, but is it really worth paying 3 times the price, being on a contract, and dealing with constant hidden and additional fees on the bill almost every month? Count me out.
Also, is the relatively minor “speed” differential really a material factor for most “kosher” usage of a phone (unless you are live streaming a daf yomi class or face-timing with your yinglach on a business trip.
