Where is there a minyan in the 11230 area of brooklyn that’s adhering to social distancing and masks?

That zip code goes anywhere from 18th Avenue and 47th Street to Avenue P and East 21st Street. It can take almost an hour to walk from one corner of the zip to the other.

Any particular area within the zip that you’re interested in?

What’s with NY not wearing masks anymore anyway? Did not enough people die the first time around we have to go for round 2?

Yserbius123: Who says we are not wearing masks. When social distancing is an option masks are not mandatory.

Where’d you get this notion that New York isn’t wearing masks anymore?

Yserbius – I can think of three responses:
    You are mistaken
There isn’t consistent reliable reason to believe that everyone who got swept up in the first waved will catch it in a second wave, if there even is such a thing
I would hope and pray that those at high risk are not out and about right now

Probably the Gaul Yaavetz is also makpid. (He did not leave his house at all for quite some time due to corona fears.)

The problem is most shuls that observe masks and social distancing are by reservation only. The solution maybe to daven in the ladies section where fewer people daven and those who are able to wear masks and social distancing.

    Dear Syag,
The fear is the opposite. That half of those that were not infected in the first wave, would be infected in the second wave. Which is a humongous number.

Nom- i will not pretend to know how many people in the united states have had the virus and obviously neithet can you, but you seem to be going by the reported tests (per trumps comment) and i believe that to be way off. As a firsthand example, i will take just 5 families that i personally know. Of those 5 families, there were 8 who tested positive. So you see that as 8 out of 40 people. Leaving 80% at risk of getting sick. The truth is, however, that 36 of those people already were sick. Leaving 10% not yet infected. I have heard this from frum families all over the various states (im not at work so haven’t spoken to any others) And they won’t test these people for covid19 or for antibodies so they will never be a part of those “cases”, forever giving a false impression that there have only been a small percentage of us who got sick.

This week the scientific community is reporting that the COVID antibodies wear off very quickly.

    Dear Syag,
I fully understand that the great majority of a household with confirmed cases were most probably infected. But even if we assume the real number is 15 times the amount of positive tests, that only equals to at most a third of the population. Which means that we are have twice as many vulnerable people as the total of the first wave.
in short –This ‘everybody got it already’ is untrue and scientifically fantastic. Disease does not work like a machine. It has to be continually suppressed until it is eliminated. Additionally, the math does not add up to the majority of the population anywhere. Not even close.

I would not trust anything attributed to scientific community because they really don’t know and keep changing what they believe. Sadly there are a number of people who appear to believe they can go around without a mask or any other precaution.
