calling a bowl a “soup plate”!
calling zuchinni “squash”! there are many different kinds of squash, including butternut, spaghetti, eggplant, zuchinni, acorn.
I am not diabetic, but I prefer Diet Coke (not Diet Pepsi, ever!) because it has just the right amount of sweetness.
A pet peeve of mine is when people are hypercritical of other people’s actions, when in fact they are guilty of doing the very same thing but are not mevinim on themselves.
I also like to drink Diet Soda when I have a slice of pizza (mind you, just a slice). I am not overweight, but I do like to watch my sugar because of family history of diabetes. So like Ames said “keep your on your own plate!” and don’t judge people.
Major one: first dates!!
are these just Monsey issues or does these things happen elsewhere:
1) you stop for a stop sign or red light and the hitchhiker on the corner thinks you are stopping for him so he tries to open the door and hop in.
2) you’re driving down the street and:
a) the young fellow walking in the street next to the sidewalk turns around and starts walking into the street to stop you.
b) the 2 or 3 young ladies walking next to each other in the street next to the sidewalk
3) the person who decides that he can go around you over the double yellow line because you slowed down to avoid hitting the people in scenarios 2a and b above.
I hate reading books that have countless careless typos on every page especially since i’m a grammar nudnik.
Just wanted to point out that “i’m” should be capitalized. Not that it bothers me or anything. 26
I’m sorry. (notice the capitalization?) By the way, I did mention that I hate reading books like that, not forums in the CR. Emails, chatting and the like are okay.

mod I think its a Monsey thing! I had about fifteen people trying to hitch -running after my car as I was driving !
I get very annoyed at people who double or triple park, or those who block off the road while everybody else just sits there in their cars!
I cannot stand people who are inconsiderate of others!
Nameless: “dirty dishes which pile up in a sink(ugh!, why cant one just rinse out the dish directly after using it?”
I was going to write that right before I saw your post! I mean for heaven’s sake, if you don’t have time to wash it, put it in a basic and store it under the sink. There is no reason that I have to get pickle juice and macaroni on my fingers every time I try to wash my hands in your sink. And it stinks! And there is macaroni and pickle pieces clogging your sink!
Totally- let’s see how fast you can moderate this. It’s 12:28am right now, EST. GO!

I can add 4th point to my post above – naturally as a mod, I could just edit it, but then you wouldn’t see it…

4. the driver, behind a stopped car, that doesn’t want to wait for the driver in front to make a left turn (they were stopped because another driver was approaching from the opposite direction) so they pull into the wrong lane of traffic to pass the vehicle that is waiting to turn. I almost got hit head on with that maneuver today. B’H nothing happened!
Mod, thats part of a category, where people say/do stupid things.
well then I guess you should be thankful that my pet peeve is about other drivers and not about users that tell mods that they have posted things in the wrong category… :o)
I don’t mind when someone passes me so that he can reach the red light ahead of me; but what annoys me is when someone quickly cuts me off and then proceeds to drive at a snails pace in front of me.
-people who reak like sweat!
-bad breath/people who never brush their teeth!
-people who are always negative!
-people who live crisis to crisis-cause they themself make everything into a crisis!
-people who drive while talking on a cellphone, an accident waiting to happen!
-when your having a long back & forth texting conversation with some, then when you decide to call them to explain something, they don’t answer their phone! & you know that the phone is on them!
-when someone doesn’t properly thank you for something that you’ve done for them!
-people who take the serving fork/spoon & use it as their own utensils! you’re hitting a little to close to home on that one. YW Moderator-72

I have decided that my biggest pet peeve is thoughtlessness in any form.
another Mod pet peeve…
A user opens up a thread and asks what has all the appearances of a legitimate question. People give advice and instead of acknowledging the advice, the OP posts multiple answers to the question under a different user name… maybe the OP just has too much time on his hands…
and when a new member opens up a new thread, posts once & never follows up in that thread again!(or ever again in the CR) even when that thread gain popularity!

Dont wash their hands after changing a diaper. (or using the bathroom)
Borrow/use something and dont return it in the same condition.

mod 72 – About those hitchhikers in Monsey, the part I can’t stand is when someone is letting off his hitch in middle of a busy road.. like on 306 bet. Phyllis Terr and YSV-and so blocks traffic all the way back, while the guy merrily takes his time getting out of the vehicle

. Those who peer down the subway tracks every 5 seconds to check if the train is coming. It wont come any faster if you keep looking for it. It only makes you more antsy and drives everyone else crazy. Tip: Subway trains make lots of noise. Sit down with a sefer and when you hear rumbling get up to the platform.
. Those who drop mail into the mailbox and then proceed to open and slam closed the “door” 5 or 6 times creating a racket. Gravity works, even in a mailbox. It will fall into the box. all you accomplish is give everyone a headache.
. People who walk into a shul that davens Nusach Ashkenaz, insist on davening for the Amud in their Nusach which is different (or vice versa). Forget the halachic aspect for a moment, its just rude.
. People who have cellphone conversations where everyone around is an unwilling party to the conversation. I dont care that Chani just looooves those shoes she just picked up, or that Shlomie is going on a 6th date with Shevy tonight. Keep your conversations to yourself.
. People whose Bluetooth devices are hidden (under a shaitel, hat etc..) and who are apparantly speaking to you and when you respond, ignore you because they are NOT talking to you.
I never realized how many things bother me, as I read when everyone writes, I keep nodding my head!
When people say “teenagers always think they know everything” (and at the same time think they know everything).

When stores have one or two registers open. They see there’s a huge line! Hello open more genuiuses!!!! Some people just don’t know how to run a buisness….

when people ask me re: my sister and brother who are twins “are they identical?” ok, for those of you out there who don’t get it, if one is a boy and one is a girl, they CANNOT be identical. identical does not only mean the face 🙂

It simply annoys me when people ask me “How are you?” and don’t wait to hear my response. If it’s protocol or wanting to be courteous either take your time to listen to my honest response, or just say ” Hi! ” and go your merry way!
When I’m waiting for an elevator and another person comes and has to press the call button even though it’s clearly lit.
(I don’t lose much sleep over this though.)
yeh, like the elevator will come fastor. Or, when you press harder on the remote control when its not working…
re what happens in clothing stores, when people ask you your opinion, if something is tznius or not. What may not be tznius for you may be acceptable for the other person! I hate when people ask me such questions.
when stuck and traffic and people keep honking their horns even though EVERYONE knows that is does nothing useful.
1. chashash of bugs in fruits/berries/veggies I’d like to eat
2. passing a really good pizza place when I’m fleishig
3. not running the A/C on what turns out to be a really hot/humid Shabbos
4. someone saying the excellent pshat I thought of, but didn’t say
5. realizing that the microwaveable bowl I just used isn’t
6. shirt stains that won’t come out
7. the mysterious ripping noise heard earlier in the day was the sound of losing a tzitzit
