This is pretty random, but I was wondering what people’s guesses are about the overall percentage of people in each Jewish group who are Democratic versus Republican (in terms of who they normally would vote for, or if they’re liberal or conservative). I know there’s a lot of diversity within each group and I’m sure it differs geographically a lot, but I just thought I’d ask in case anyone has ideas. I’m kind of an outsider (out of town for one thing), so my own guesses are probably totally off, but here goes. (I don’t have the presidential election in mind, because I think Obama’s Israel policies will reduce the numbers).
Percent Democratic voters (non-Presidential elections):
Chassidic: 10%
Yeshivish: 15%
RWMO/Centrist: 40%
LWMO: 60%
Sephardim: ?
Conservative: 80%
Reform: 85%
Reconstructionist: 99%
What would your guesses be?
