I can understand the good sheitels and the nice clothing, but 50 y.o. women wearing 3″ heeled pumps on a slushy Thursday night in Pomegranate? And I saw a number of them.

Why? Why do you think that people analyze the clothing that other people wear while shopping?

Are they thinking that it’s their business what other people are wearing? Maybe I should try it. Although it seems a little strange and borderline creepy that someone is taking note and posting questions on the internet about what people wear at the Pomegranate.

Why the need to know or care what other people are doing? Very few women I know make their decisions about what to wear on the basis of what other people wear, and the ones who do are the dumb ones. They are definitely sacrificing taste and reasonableness for gossip and inanity.

Not only that they analyze the stuff you have in your cart.

Hey, don’t get me started on that one. I wish people would just live and let live.

Veltz Meshugener:- Do you know the itineraries of these 50 year young women? Maybe she is on her way to or from a wedding or Bar-Mitzwah. Maybe they don’t live in Midwood, but because they had the rare opportunity of being in Midwood for some Simcha, they took advantage of their presence in Midwppd, to go shopping for Shabbos haChodesh or/& Pesach.

According to a Magid Shiur I listen to, it’s to “impress Vinnie and Tony on the street” or maybe Miguel and Armando in produce. Maybe not, I’m just repeating what I heard from a reliable source.

Well I actually saw a 47.25 year old woman shopping in a weekday skirt and shirt with a regular sheitel on!!! Can you believe it? Doesn’t she know the shidduch spies cruise the aisles taking pictures of potential mother-in-laws to post on the marriage websites? Her son hasn’t got a prayer!

Perhaps it is to impress the “reliable source”.

Her birthday is the begining of December?? (Now that we are getting soooo personal) You see, I want to be able to wish her a happy birthday when the time comes. And I’ll be telling everyone to nix any potential Shidduch who’s mother`s birthday is December…*self rightous*

Maybe it’s the mazal of the month…I wouldnt ever want to get stuck with someone who has been so utterly corrupted.

Mayan_Dvash, You need more sources. This ‘reliable source’ has quite an interesting “opinion”.

shnitzy – I can’t say I really understood most of your post but as far as the December part, well . . . I never said when it was that I saw her.

You should never shop in Pomegranate without first doing your hair and dressing up, since only the fanciest people can afford to shop there, and it would be tragic if anyone ever thought that you are anything but effortlessly elegant at all times, even while picking up potatoes for that emergency 2 AM kugel.

May these be the most difficult challenges we ever have to face in our lifetime!

    Love the OP for this…

In my time on this site I have seen posts about:

white shirts, colored shirts, black hats, grey suits, wearing a jacket on the shoulders, women wearing boots, a psychoanalysis of why men wear baseball caps.. and then women wearing heels when shopping.

If you dont like what someone is wearing, dont look.

And I think it only refelcts poorly on the observers.
