Why does no one talk about them? Apparently there was a conference for them in Israel last week. Are they really our long lost brothers? Anyone have any additional / current info on this aside from that long documentary?
June 27, 2018 2:14 pm at 2:14 pm #1547668CSParticipantRecently, I read about Amir Dromi and his search for the Bnei Moshe in China, along with Rav Chinegal. I was surprised when I saw the last update is 2012. Does anyone know any more updates? It’s such a shame as it seemed they were making great progress and had already heard reports of the Bnei Moshe and whereabouts they are located…
June 27, 2018 7:16 pm at 7:16 pm #1548576JosephParticipantThere are all kinds of pseudo-Jews and claimed-Jews all over the world.
Even in Manhattan you’ll find the Black Hebrews.
June 27, 2018 7:16 pm at 7:16 pm #1548579YehudahTzviParticipantThey do not seem to possess any DNA Haplogroups commonly found among Jews or other Semites. They do, however, have similar DNA to groups from the Indus Valley and areas near where they live.
June 28, 2018 7:59 am at 7:59 am #1548760ToiParticipant@CS because, once again, these things are not in our job description. That’s why R chaim kanievsky, the belzer rebbe, and R mutzpi are not hiking around the far east looking for cool tribes with pseudo judaic customs.
June 28, 2018 8:02 am at 8:02 am #1548762CSParticipant@yehudatzvi this is regarding?
June 28, 2018 8:03 am at 8:03 am #1548763CSParticipant@joseph Yeah that’s a whole other topic. But apparently the bnei Moshe have kept the mesora all the way back to Moshe rabbeinu with smicha etc. and they will only be discovered in ikvasa dimeshicha
June 28, 2018 10:28 am at 10:28 am #1548906JosephParticipantThey must be on the other side of the Sambatyon, ChabadShlucha.
June 28, 2018 10:52 am at 10:52 am #1548915zahavasdadParticipantVery few people are looking for crypto jews and anyway in todays society there arent any unknown cultures or tribes. Looking for crypto jews is really no different than searching for Big Foot
June 28, 2018 12:30 pm at 12:30 pm #1548937JosephParticipantZD, there are unknown tribes living in the jungles of the Amazon, in South America, among other places.
June 28, 2018 1:07 pm at 1:07 pm #1548961👑RebYidd23ParticipantThey don’t want to be known.
June 28, 2018 1:43 pm at 1:43 pm #1548977zahavasdadParticipantThey are not unknown, they know who they are, they just dont interfere with them
June 28, 2018 1:43 pm at 1:43 pm #1548964ToiParticipant“…and they will only be discovered in ikvasa dimeshicha….”
LOL, as if we had no idea where you were going with this.
June 28, 2018 3:46 pm at 3:46 pm #1549053JosephParticipantZD, many are unknown and civilization has never yet made contact with them. You can also find them in the rivers near India and in Africa.
June 28, 2018 5:19 pm at 5:19 pm #1549106CSParticipantYeah Joseph and they think it’s located near kashgar in China near the town on nisa according to the information they’ve gathered from the sefarim and their travels… It was fascinating reading up on them.
June 28, 2018 5:20 pm at 5:20 pm #1549108CSParticipantThe uyghurs (if I’m spelling right) say that one a year these tall people with luminous faces who aren’t Muslim come there top trade. But they refuse to say much at all and only talk about their trading needs and then they leave. And in the same area there is a constant noise but they don’t know where its from.
June 29, 2018 12:04 am at 12:04 am #1549193Uncle BenParticipantCS; That was written up in Zman magazine about 6 years ago. The security situation in the vast Xinjiang region has intensified in recent years making it highly unlikely that they will be reached anyone soon. When Rav Chaim Kanievsky shlita was asked how is it possible in today’s world that we don’t know where they are, he answered מסתירים אותם מן השמים
