During COVID we dealt with the Covid Test/Mask/Vad bots. Now that the COVID grift is up they’re shifting to Ozempic. Instead of saying less restaurants (notice the amount of restaurants popping up in heimish restaurants and overeating at simchas) and exercise they’re pill pushing Ozempic. Within the next few months the grifters will feature some Rov in sure to promote the product.
September 24, 2024 3:43 pm at 3:43 pm #2318280ujmParticipantNever heard of this on any widespread basis. Is this happening in some basement somewhere?
September 25, 2024 11:28 am at 11:28 am #2318342Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipantOzempic, I think, reduces appetite, so surely restaurants will not be promoting them!
Also, if someone is learning Torah 24/7 surviving on “bread and water” based on a pill – is he a Tzaddik or a cheater?
September 25, 2024 11:28 am at 11:28 am #2318350DOEYeshivaParticipantAs a Diabetic who has been taking Ozempic for 2 years, I would not recommend it unless you truthfully need it its not a wonder drug to lose weight and side effects are not fun for the first few months.
September 25, 2024 11:28 am at 11:28 am #2318359philosopherParticipantIt’s really scary to see so many obese children in my community where we have an overabundance of restaurants and eateries. Ozempic is a dangerous bandaid for eating the wrong foods and being inactive.
September 25, 2024 11:28 am at 11:28 am #2318362philosopherParticipantOzempic is a worldwide obsession. It’s the new bandaid to compensate for the West’s overprocessed, sugary and fatty diet. It is not only the “new grift in the heimishe world”, but all the overweight celebrities are using it and literally millions of overweight and obese people globally are using Ozempic, Wegovy and similar drugs help to lose weight.
September 25, 2024 11:28 am at 11:28 am #2318379GadolhadorahParticipantAre you saying that there is a Rebbe somewhere who is pushing GLP-1 analogs for obese yidden who can’t say no to another slice of kugel?? I’ve seen a lot of commercials for Ozempic, Jardiance etc. where they always seem to be dancing but none appear to be dressed in yeshivishe lvush.
September 25, 2024 11:29 am at 11:29 am #2318536pekakParticipant@ 1
I’m so happy for you that your life is so simple. You probably tell people that antidepressants are unnecessary and they should just “get over it”. If it’s not your struggle MYOB.
September 25, 2024 2:34 pm at 2:34 pm #2318629GadolhadorahParticipantThere is a growing recognition of both the long-term financial and health/emotional issues associated with this whole class of GLP-1 analogs. An immediate problem is simply availability and many patients prescribed these drugs cannot get their RXs filled because of supply shortages. The drug companies and distributors are rationing distribution to existing patients. Also, the government has realized that more widespread use could literally bankrupt medicare/medicaid at current price levels.
Some patients are going off their meds when they reach desired weight levels only to put the weight back on creating a familiar cycle of loss/gain (wash/rinse/repeat).
The genie is out of the bottle and there is no way prescriptions can be narrowed to the truly obese or diabetics etc. Better guidance from doctors would help but there will always be a few on the margin who like other “miracle drugs” will be glad to provide an Rx without really determining the patient’s medical need.September 26, 2024 9:54 am at 9:54 am #2318669peacebeuponusParticipantאין דבר העומד לפני הרצון – This is just cheating and laziness in a pill and totally against our השקפה.
September 26, 2024 12:20 pm at 12:20 pm #2318931pekakParticipantI agree. Let’s ban chemotherapy. Beat cancer with willpower.
September 26, 2024 12:21 pm at 12:21 pm #2318951Yserbius123Participant@1 Shaychus? COVID was a massive hatzalos nefoshos issue at the time that could be mitigated by small easy things vaccines and masks, yet some people were religiously motivated against them.
Ozempic is a drug. Is it a miracle drug against weight loss? Ich veis nisht. Hopefully it will help people that have psychological difficulties with dieting.
September 26, 2024 12:21 pm at 12:21 pm #23189542scentsParticipantFor some, taking a pill may be the right choice, but for most people, it’s important to be aware of how an unhealthy lifestyle significantly increases the risks of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
This includes heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, kidney failure, and even cancers.
While there are no guarantees of protection, lifestyle choices such as food intake and activity levels can help control these risk factors. By being more mindful, we can control the temptation to indulge in unhealthy habits that only provide short term satisfaction butcan lead to long-term harm.
Many individuals living with debilitating diseases might have made different choices given the opportunity. Make smart choices from the start, as it is the only chance to get it right.

Those people were apikorsim not to mention fools. Many of them aren’t with us today.
September 29, 2024 1:24 pm at 1:24 pm #23198442scentsParticipantmodern,
Many vaccinated and masked people unfortunately passed away as a result of COVID-19.
September 29, 2024 2:10 pm at 2:10 pm #2319927Always_Ask_QuestionsParticipant2scents, thank you for trying to contrive a phrase that is both factually correct and sounds like an argument against the previous poster. If you have more respect for the readers, you could simply clarify what the facts are and what additional opinion you have.
