One of the frum magazines had a write up about the new frum communities that were recently created /are being created such as East Meadow, Union NJ, Linden, Thiells, Blooming Grove, Bloomingburg, Tampa, Casa Grande, Manchester Twp. Etc. was wondering if anyone knows if the communities are taking off or are they just pipe dreams?

    Where is this article available?

I heard recently that Linden is taking off. You should also mention Staten Island. Bloomingburg is Satmar. Hasn’t Klausenburg been in Union for decades already? There’s also Jersey City.

@ujm, it was in the Peasch issue of Ami or Mishpocha, Klausenburg is in Union City thats in Hudson County near the Lincoln Tunnel, Union NJ is in the area of the Garden State Parkway exit 140, it was started by one of the Bobovs if I am not mistaken. Does Staten Island qualify as a new yishuv? not sure there has been a frum presence there for years but it grew by leaps and bounds in the past 5 years

I once saw New Rochelle (and several other Westchester communities) promote themselves as “out of town”. I’d think you can’t title yourself as “out of town” if you practically have the same area code, let alone using the “in town” schools, restaurants, and other kosher venues. With that logic, Brighton Beach is “out of town”.

@TGI, a huge chunk of New Rochelle sends the kids to SAR located in the Bronx [one of the five boros], anyway we are talking about the brand new frum communities that sprang up in the past few years not in town vs out of town
