The fact that there are almost 800 posts on children going off the derech shows that Yeshivas, synagogues and Parents need to deal with this problem in a serious manner. PRofessional people skilled in dealing with this problem in conjunction with Yeshivas parents and synagogues should provide guidance on this and hopefully it will prevent many from going OTD.

There are plenty of “safety net” organizations out there that do help. You can’t control people to not go off the D. As unhappy as you may be about it, it’s a decision every individual has to make for themselves, and it’s not something you can prevent. You can only do your hishtadlut, and that’s where these organizations come into play.

What pains me is that there is answers, people are just not willing to seek different ways. oh well

No, it only shows that members on this board enjoy discussing it — nothing more, nothing less.

That may or may not be true, but it does not follow from your premise (i.e. that because there are 800+ posts in one thread on the CR that this is what should/must happen).

I heard that a bucher of 25 took his life yesterday in Brooklyn.I don’t know any details BUT this is a tragedy that someone within our community could not receive the help he needed! Look around you , at work or home. Do you see anyone who could use a little attention? Don’t just go on with your day. Care about each other….
